Llama Llama Wakey-Wake

There are new adventures to rhyme your way through with Llama Llama wakey-wake. Anna Dewdney has provided a book intended for a younger audience, but it will fail only in the fact that any age will enjoy reading or hearing this story read, just like the earlier series of Llama Llama books. I assume the wakey-wake volume of Llama Llama's newest tales is the sequel. Hopefully baby llama got to sleep prior to waking.My grandkids love this author's previous rhyming stories, and each family has been given a full set of the Llama Llama tales. They read and re-read, and when they learn to read, the older reading grandchildren are reading them to the younger. It's their favorite books, so says more than one mommy in the family.I purchased the board books to begin Frank, our newest grandson, on Llama Llama even before he's able to sit up by himself. Never too young to hear a rhyming story. Will wakey-wake get him going on the right foot in the morning after hearing nighty-night that put him to sleep? Mama Mama in real life hopes so. Both Llama Llama wakey-wake & Llama Llama nighty-night goes through all the steps to learn to get in and out of bed through the mama desired correct procedure. So, it is tiny tot educational as well. I'll not spoil the fun and tell you any of the steps, you'll have to buy and read to find out.The pictures are exactly as they are with the older, larger books. Large and colorful characters, and a heavy page book designed to last. I tried opening the first book flat to see how it responded and was pleased to see the construction of the spine causes only a planned binding crease on the back cover, never one on the front. Well unless abused, I guess. 7 hard boards bound with pictures and story on all sides, which also includes the cover and back.I have the first two, but also know there are more board book Llama Llama's soon to be published. I will be buying them all, for Grandson Frankie, you understand, not for me, I'm too old...no I'm not, I love nighty-night.A fast read. :)

I too was looking for a book that explains morning routines to my almost 2year old toddler. This book has very little text, but very nice illustrations. It is definitely much simpler than the famous “ Llama Llama Red Pijama”, which is one of the top books writing-wise in my child’s extensive library. That being said, I knew it had little text and I bought it for the illustrations and concepts it was explaining. I think it does the job, and I would buy it again.

My daughter loves the Llama Llama books, we read a couple of them every night. She saw this one on the back cover of another book, and I purchased it for her. Great book for little kids, fast read.

We loved the original Llama Llama Red Pajama book, and I was looking for a morning book to read to my little one so I was happy to see Wakey-Wake. It is much shorter than the original book, with far fewer words but it is cute and keeps our little one's attention. The price is very reasonable and it was hard to find specific good morning books. This one talks about getting ready for your day, finding clothes to wear, giving a kiss goodbye, and having a good day. I would recommend, but still love the original best!

I’m an infant teacher at a daycare center & my babies ABSOLUTELY LOVE Lama Lama!! I have other Lama Lama board books & my babies will ask for Lama Lama…wanting me to read to them!!

This is a fun book for even the smallest baby. My son is five months old and loves to stare at the illustrations of Llama Llama. They are adorable illustrations and brightly colored yet simple so a small child isn't overwhelmed by a lot of information. Each page has one or two short sentences that rhyme and if you read it enough times, simple enough to remember without looking at the page. Very cute and cheery. His six year old brother even enjoys reading this to him because it is simple enough for him to read without needing to ask for help on the words. Highly recommended.

If your child is already a fan of Red Pajama or the other Llama Llama storybooks, they are probably too old for this board book.Our 3 year old loves Llama Llama Books. She regularly chooses one of the story books for her bedtime story. We were already owners of the original books (Red Pajama, Misses Mama, Mad at Mama, etc.) at the time and we pre-ordered all four of the board books. Our daughter was 2 at the time and we jumped on any new Llama Llama books that came out. Unfortunately, these books were a completely different level than the originals and we didn't realize it at the time because the Amazon description didn't have any age level information in it. We were very disappointed and our daughter showed no interest in the board books after the initial read. They are pure board books with very simple writing. We're talking 4-6 words per page with very little story. They may be good for babies and very young toddlers, but I can't imagine they will keep a child's interest very long. There are much better board books out there.In conclusion, if your child is already a fan of the original Llama Llama story books like Red Pajama and Misses Mama, do not buy these books. They are not the same and are for a much younger audience. You will be disappointed.

Disappointed.I thought it's another cute story, but the book is almost for babies.My 3 years old is not so much interested.There is only one short sentence on each page.For older babies it's good though.

My toddler memorized this book and yet she still asks for us to read it to her. It's perfect for toddler attending daycare or preschool. It's definitely one of her favorites.

This book has helped my toddler with understanding morning routine.
