Worked great for us!
We live on 35 acres and have about 60 birds in three large chicken coops. It’s winter so the snakes are hibernating and the mice are going crazy. We knew we had a problem and have been slowly getting ride of the mice with conventional mouse traps but after catching 30 mice we knew we needed to change tactics. We bought these traps and set them out. The first night we caught 89 mice total. We used these traps in addition to a bucket trap. The bucket trap only caught two mice while the others were caught in the listed traps. These traps worked flawlessly so we’ve purchased 4 more to put around a 5000 sq ft shop and our 6000 sq ft house. We will see how many more we can catch on night two.

Best Product Ever
We've tried different catch and release traps over the years, all plastic. If captured during the night, mice will get busy chewing and destroying the plastic hold down latch on one product. On the other product they can push up the bait trap door and escape or simply remain on the outside of the trap and chew through the bait door to get to the bait. Tin Cat Mouse Live Trap with window is a terrific solution to those problems. They are super easy to load - we use some sunflower seeds and a small amount of woodpecker feed (nuts). The mice that get trapped overnight can at least have a small snack before being released in the morning, instead of being tortured by the smell of food they can't reach. The mice we've captured so far have been pretty calm and relaxed when they get released. We live in a mountain forest so we release them into the woods. Never thought about how difficult it might be to release them in cities. It's pretty difficult to prevent mice from getting inside. At least with the Tin Cat Mouse Live Trap, they don't stay inside long enough to start families. For those who intend to kill mice, I'd suggest purchasing a trap that gets the job done quickly and humanely without the use of poison or glue traps.

Great traps.
These traps are great. You can see into them unlike similar ones that I own. I don't catch and release so I use glue traps inside of them.

Very effective
Was hesitant due to many of the other reviews BUT they work great! Cold winter weather settled in a bit early this year in Massachusetts and I noticed mice were scrambling to find shelter. Had no problems baiting or setting these out (just remember mice travel along walls so don't put in the middle of the room and look for positive results!) Bought overkill with 8 traps, but only caught 2 mice....better safe than sorry! Mice showed no signs of trying to chew, just curled up in the corner and took a nap ;)

Effective... just need to check daily or mice will die in trap
Works as described. Peanut butter is best bait. Check it daily or the poor mice will die of thirst. It's a little tricky getting the mouses to jump out of the trap for release. Now, if my wife would please let me release the mice in the yard as prey for the Red Shouldered Hawks that nest in our Oak tree, versus driving them across town for release at the golf course...!

wow these are great!
We've had a mouse infestation this year. We'd managed to live trap a few but there were a few that quickly learned how to evade our bucket and ramp traps. I purchased a set of four of these and within the first night doubled the number of mice we had caught. They are easy, well made, easy to clean, and effective with no ill effect to the mice! The clear window on the top is crucial to see if you've caught somebody-the minute you open the top they are gone! A definite recommend on these!

Not mouse proof
I received this on Saturday, put it outside the same day, Sunday I checked it and the mouse ate all the peanut butter and got out right through the top. I read this happened on several reviews before I purchased but figured I would give it a shot. I am less than satisfied.

I highly recommend these traps if you have pets.
I've had my traps for about a week and have already caught six mice. The reason I purchased this item is because it is pet safe. I've tried the battery powered devices in the past, but they are hard to monitor or clean and will only work if the batteries are strong enough. This design is simplicity itself, easy to clean, and the clear window on top let's me instantly see if I have had an intruder. Plus there is no need for batteries. I highly recommend these traps based on my initial experience with them.
