Good value
Good price, easy to use and works for a quick, not-too-precise reading.

unreliable results
I got these strips because I was concerned a family member was hiding their drinking. I did a test last night on him and it came back positive. But the person in question had taken an herbal tincture with alcohol in it and claimed that was the cause. I wasn't sure whether to believe him so I took the same amount of tincture, waited the same amount of time, and did the test myself which came back negative (and I weigh much less). I worried all day that he was lying. Just to see if there was some kind of metabolic difference between the two of us, I had the person drink the tincture again today, I waited an hour and gave him the test. The first one came up negative, but when I put alcohol directly on it, it turned only very faintly blue as if the test wasn't working correctly. I gave him a second test and it instantly turned blue. Not knowing which test to trust I gave him two more - one again tested negative and the other again came back blue. The strips - or the quality control in the production of them - are clearly problematic. They don't produce reliable - and reproducible - results and appear to produce false negatives. My experience suggests these strips cannot be trusted if you are trying to monitor someone's alcohol use.

Works Accurately
Sadly for my teenage daughter, this test worked perfectly. The test accurately showed a positive result. It is very easy to use, just place it on the tongue and wait for the results. Easy peasy.

Beware of false positives . . .
I received order quickly. I opened package to show my employee how to use and the first 2 came out positive. I was testing myself and knew the results should be negative. I called the number Listed on the product Insert and felt insulted because I was treated as though I knew nothing. She kept telling me how to use the product after I told her I’ve been testing for 24 years. Was eventually told I must have a bottle of hand sanitizer in the room and this is why they all came out positive. This is amazing because it was never a problem before. She refused to acknowledge that the product might be defective but insisted I was in error. Fortunately, this isn’t the only product approved by DOT I will use QED next time. My reason for switching isn’t because I’ve had previous bad experiences, but because of customer service and the fact that I expect everyone to fail their Initial tests, and go through stress of confirmation, and time wasted, based on this particular package.

I hate to say it but I use these on my teens. They are sooooo accurate so it's a deterrent to temptation. I love that if someone tests positive, the test shows the actual blood alcohol level by color so you'll know how much someone has been drinking and how much over the limit he or she may be.It may also be helpful if you, as an adult, are planning to drive but aren't sure if you're over the legal limit because you may feel alright. Very useful!

These Saliva Strips, which ARE DOT and SAMSHA approved, are excellent. They are not like the breathalyzer or a blow tube, as you have to be mindful of things being used in proximity of the strip. The ones I received had a expiration date that was 1 year+ ahead which is way better then I could've asked for. My only complaint is that the box the strips came in was completely smashed on delivery, but price and expiration made up for it.
