RUDY Bankers Desk Lamp 15"H, Green Glass Shade with Brushed Gold Finish Straight Brass Base

My mom has wanted one of these lamps for a dozen years, she saw one on a Matlock rerun and keep saying she wanted one. Amazon sells everything and low and behold here it was. It loos great and was a great price too. I didn't know if she would like it,, but she loves it! She's real happy and I'm happy I don't have to hear about the lamp anymore.

The lamp itself is functional and looks good. However, there are two flaws in the construction of the lamp which suggest shoddy workmanship, packing, and general attention to detail at the quality control stage. The lamp was well packaged with heavy duty polystyrene inside the box to prevent it from moving in transit. Unfortunately when I took it out of the packaging there was a small (1/2 inch) scratch on the base which isn't a huge deal as it isn't particularly noticable, but I was disappointed that it was already superficially damaged before I even got to use it. I can ignore the scratch, however, the shade isn't straight. The metal bars that hold the shade in place are a degree or so out. At first I thought it wouldn't bother me, but it's been on my desk for about a day and it's really starting to bug me now. Hopefully I'll get used to it.

I've always wanted one of these lamps but kept putting it off. When I found this one in Amazon I was pleased to see such an affordable price. I've had it for a few weeks now and I'm so glad I bought it.

My biggest problem was finding a light bulb. Big deal. I found just what i needed at my local True Value!! I absolutely love this lamp. If I had more desks, I would order more Bankers Lamps!!

Not sure all the comments concerning "in pieces" and "scratched" but my lamp was delivered in one unit. No scratches, no marks, no breaks. the shade is the perfect match for the barstool I purchased for my desk. Gives enough light and the shade can be rotated up if I desire more. Absolutely adorable lamp and for the price, its perfect.

There appears to be tiny dots in the glass that were formed by air bubbles during manufacturing. Also, the "gold" finish has slight scuffing along the stem of the lamp. Typical chinese QA for you.

The first time this lamp came, it came with broken glass. The second time the lamp came it looked to be in fairly good shape. The lamp however is not tight in the joints and will not hold a position that you tilt it to. That being said it is just a desk lamp and it lights the desk and room up well enough in the down position.
