For an instant powder, this is pretty dang good. It’s not nearly as good as actual tokkpoki sauce made from gochujang paste. But for a quick fix this is absolutely acceptable. It’s mildly sweet. Heat level by American standards is mild. By Asian heat standards, it’s non existent.

My husband is from Korea and I made tteokbokki for him last night with this. He was very happy and said it brought back memories. It was spicy, as expected. Very good flavor. I loved how easy it was, just add water and rice cake sticks.

Definitely worth a try, if you're on the fence.I will say that I was surprised at the spice level, though. I can handle a bit more spice than some, but this was about my limit with level 2.I also didn't add as much water as suggested because I wanted a thicker sauce. I've used it with some udon for a nice twist, as well.

Well, i can say i cant eat any spicy food. This one was super spicy. Though i hated it so much, my other family members loved it. I will say, if you like spicy food, this will be good.

I wanted spicy tteokbokki I feel like whenever I order it from a restaurant it is not spicy enough but woah this brings the heat. Had me sweating. Love it!

I like eating spicy food. I add hot pepper powder into pretty much everything to add fire. The fiery flavor at first doesn't seem that hot but it gradually builds up! The first 1-3 isn't much but by the time you are done eating 12-15 rice cakes, it gets spicy! The level of built up spiciness is similar to that of eating 1/2 to 1 habanero which is pretty hot for commercially made rice cake sauce. 4* one is similar to eating a spicy jalapeno since for your rough reference. For most people, stick to 2-3 star level and take on 4-5 if like it hot.Enjoy!
