I love this book
I love this book. I got this while I took a year of pre-requisites before my actual nursing classes to review Anatomy and Physiology mostly and get used to NCLEX style questions. I feel better prepared and more confident going into my nursing program. It's not exactly a chock FULL of illustrations though. In some chapters, I could go 10+ pages without seeing a single picture, chart, diagram, etc. But every page is colorful when you compare it to other NCLEX study books, and easier to read being that way.The print is small, so it is packed with information. I probably wouldn't have purchased this to study specifically before the NCLEX exam though, I think I will probably be using Kaplan, Saunders, and other "bigger" names that I see recommended on nursing forums. However this book has been invaluable to me to get a head start in nursing school, and will be helpful to review along with my classes.

Concise and excellent for visual learners
I am a first year RN student and I have found this to be my go to book for med surg. It also includes everything that will be on NCLEX so I am sure my copy will be pretty worn out by the time I graduate.PROS 1. - tons of questions online ( note if you get a used copy you will have to pay additional for access to those)2. Very concise review of all key material.. This is really nice when you don't have to lug around a super heavy book or sets of books to get all the info3. many visuals and mnemonic aids included.4. Excellent questions - other books I found had some DUH even a first year would no that questions.. I was not pleased.5. Includes the alternate format questions that we all love to hate.Cons... I am trying to think of some right now.... ?? If I think of any I will update my review.

not that illustrated
this book organizes things well, and integrates peds into the main body of information... if you're into that. It's got a LOT more detailed info that isn't in the Saunders review book believe it or not, but they pull this off by using a smaller font. It is very misleading to call this an "illustrated" book... because while yes, it does have illustrations, they are VERY few an far between. Info-wise, it seems to be accurate and includes a fair amount of more obscure info, which is what you get tested on on harder tests :) But overall, well organized, clearly written, and good info.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK!!!
If your a nursing student, let me tell you this is the book for you! The book gives you excellent content review along with a brief test at the end of each chapter/content. Once you have mastered the topic, you can test yourself on the Evolve website with tons of questions and great rationals. I wish I had known about this book when I first started my nursing course, but its never too late to review & get ready for that NCLEX.

Not very illustrated
This book is not for those learners who expect a lot of pictures to help out. It is mostly condensed text on the topics. Very few pictures, which really surprised me. I had gotten the Mosby's Pharmacology Memory NoteCards by the same first author and found it very helpful with pictures and concise text. This may be a good review guide, and is supposed to help access many additional review questions, which may be helpful...I will try to update later. But be aware that it has few illustrations and has smaller print than most textbooks. Very dry reading.

I'm an R.N. now !
This book helped me pass NCLEX. The review at the end of each chapter helped to reinforce everything that was hit upon during the previous chapter. This book took what you already should of known and presented it in a way that you could remember. It also summarized many paragraphs into a few that you could remember. I still have this book and occasionally look at it as a refresher.

Excellent Study Guide to use throughout RN school!
Love this book! 10yr LPN who returned to complete RN- wish I had this book throughout my course to use as a study tool. This study guide text breaks it down simple, the illustrations and the nursing priority breakdowns are amazing! I also purchased the authors other memory notebooks that were full page illustrations. This has them in, but I like the access of having the other books as well!

Not what i expected
A last ditch attempt at trying to relearn the fun side of my career.I first saw this online and was awe struck because i remember how much I always enjoyed Zerwekh's previous works andthey always aided me in memorization of very important concepts in nursing. The information is certainly empowering however, definitely not the illustratedwork that I love and that which defined Zerwekh's most known works the Memory notebook collection.
