Good sturdy loft ladder, especially useful in smaller than usual access hatches
A well-made, sturdy and easy to use and install loft ladder, with a small enough footprint within the loft to fit in our difficult entry hatch. Very easy to use, and a lot stronger than I expected. Buy a small aerosol can of silicon lubricant spray to keep everything working easily - you will probably only need to use it two or three times a year. Measure carefully before you buy - all the necessary dimensions are clearly shown in the advert - to ensure you buy the right size of ladder. The only thing I felt could be improved is the telescopic pole supplied to unlatch the hatch and pull the ladder down has a shiny plastic tip on it to push the hatch up. This is very slippery and you have to make sure it's absolutely straight before pushing or it just slides off and could cause damage. I got over it by getting a screw cap off a milk bottle, drilling a hole in it and screwing to the attic hatch just where I need to apply pressure so the pole cannot slip around. A better way of dealing with this would be if the manufacturer used a soft rubber tip, similar to those used on walking sticks, for the pole instead of a shiny plastic one. This is such a tiny problem though, that I wouldn't detract from my 5-star rating because of it. A super piece of kit. Update: I've now had the ladder installed for about 3 1/2 years and it's still going well, showing no signs of weakness or wear at all. Well worth 5 stars still

Very sturdy ladder
Sure, this product is a bit more expensive than your average ladder, but you do get a quality product that is very easy to install.. No regret, but will mention that the steps on this ladder is super uncomfortable if you go up it with only socks on (which I suspect most people will), I wish they would design the actual steps in a way that didnt hurt so much.. Not a big deal, but I complain every time I go up/down the ladder.

Great ladder but a few minor niggles.
What I like about this ladder: 1. Sturdy construction 2. Relative ease of installation 3. Small footprint when stowed away 4. Nice telescopic action What I dislike: 1. Packaging was inadequate so the ladder was scuffed on arrival, caused by parts bashing again the ladder. Not a deal breaker as it is not seen most of the time, but seems a shame to damage the exposed sections for want of a bit of extra padding in the box. 2. The nuts on the top of the ladder where the bolts from the bracket attach both fell into the hollow telescopic tubes. It was a real struggle to locate them back in place so the ladder could be bolted to the bracket. They need to be more securely seated. 3. In operation, it is a bit of a struggle to latch the ladder onto the support bracket when folding away. The rungs all collapse nicely except the last one and I have to jiggle the ladder about before it collapses allowing me to hook it on the support bracket. Interestingly there was a a woven braid included which was not on the part list and not mentioned in the instruction book. Turns out this can be used to pull the ladder down and control it swinging back up for storage, but you need to attach it during assembly, so too late for me. I am not inclined to disassemble given that a hook is included (and that is mentioned!!). You also need a drop down loft hatch as there is not enough clearance once the ladder is stowed for a lift and remove type, so I had to replace my loft hatch. Most of the ladder sits above the loft hatch when stowed.

Great ladder, but it's a Werner ladder

Good old German design
2.6m version. Good design, perfect for our small hatch. Smooth enough extension and retraction. A bit stiff around about half way during retraction which I’m assuming is a safety feature of some sort to stop it hitting you in face (which shouldn’t be possible if you install properly). Handy strap and hook to help you reach it. Ladder probably took 15 minutes to install following installation guide and video explainer. My situation was slightly complicated by having a cheap hatch opening with a thick piece of styrofoam obstructing it. I had to cut a bit out for the two arms of the frame, but nothing crazy. Also, you need a joist height of at least 10cm to install the brackets. Theirs is no way around this. Mine was too short so I joined a piece of wood on top of the joist to make it tall enough and backed it with another piece for support. Pretty easy. It’s not too heavy - enough to give it the sturdiness it needs. Overall seems pretty safe. Will see how it fares over the years. Sorry for the love handles in the video!

Compact, easy to fit, easy to use
I didn't want a telescopic ladder but my options were very limited unless I did some ceiling and joist reworking. This fits in to my existing hatch. It's pretty generous with the minimum fitting size too. The instructions looked unclear, but once you get started they all make sense. Very straight forward. I've read some reviews to say its heavy to put away. I would disagree. It's easier to put away and pull down than my previous house (wooden triple folding stair ladder). It feels and looks very well constructed and solid The only criticisms - it's boxed up with the 2 fitting brackets cabled tied to the ladder - metal to painted metal! and the ladder paint is scratched. It needs a bit of card or bubble wrap when packing The other is the swivel brackets are attached to the ladder when it arrives (thats fine, as you know which side is which) but the instruction booklet has them unattached. It took me a couple of minutes to work out what was what. Other than that, perfect

Fantastic product.
I bought this to fit a very small loft hatch as all other options were just far too big, and it did not disappoint. An absolute doddle to fit, very easy to use and requires little to no effort to pull down or put away. My hatch (after resizing it slightly) is 49x57cm and this product does need a hatch length of minimum 60cm. I found an easy way to work around this however and overall I'm very happy with them. I never thought I'd be this pleased with a loft ladder but the ease of install and convenient design means that it's hard not to be.
