EXTREME QUALITY AND SAFER DESIGN THAN OMNIA
I was very intrigued and excited to purchase this product. For some reason it is very difficult to get ahold of now as it comes from Germany and is not marketed in the US. Making the unit out of stainless steel was a great answer to the stove-top oven community that has to work around the aluminum build of the Omnia. Stainless steel removes that issue. My first baking project was a brownies mix - always a good thing to test with. I kept the flame VERY low and waited for about twice the "required" length of time for the brownies to finish. Most of the brownies turned out very well except around the inside "chimney" area, which was too hard and shiny to eat, so that was cut off. The rest of the brownies were fine - even the bottoms. So it seems to be a chimney issue. They weren't terribly burnt, though, and I believe that baking other food items would be perfectly fine in this way. Omnia certainly gives you a learning curve regarding burned bottoms, and with this oven my test brownies actually turned out considerably better than my first batch with the other brand - although I did not depend on a thermometer to test the temperature but watched the size of the flame the whole time. As with all of these ovens, the key is "low and slow".The design of having handles on the food portion was also a big improvement from the competitor. There is no feeling of unsteadiness or having to "balance" the three parts with this brand. That makes it a safer product for me to recommend someone who would be newer to the idea of stove-top baking. Much safer with the Petromax.I would really like to get the baking tray that sits over the food pan, but I cannot find them offered for sale anywhere in the US. Right now Petromax doesn't seem too concerned about getting these products distributed in the US. The baking tray could be used for making or heating pizza or something requiring a flat surface, and that would be a great advantage. But at the writing of this review, they have to be purchased from Europe and the shipping costs way more than the product.I'm glad I made this purchase and I'm sure it will get lots of satisfied use.

Great… but doesn’t not come with the Baking plate as in one of the pics there.
Better constructed, larger than Omnia.Should note that it does NOT come with the Baking Plate as in the stock photos.
