A SUPERB MOVIE-SERIES (GREAT 4K UPGRADE)
22 years of M.I with more to come...The 4k upgrade of the series is pretty impressive, certainly worth the investment.Tom Cruise who plays Ethan Hunt in the series continues to do most of the stunt work in his role, of course in the 2018 film Fallout he broke his ankle making an assisted jump between buildings.(Not getting any younger, will he continue to perform the stunts?.... I suspect he will if he can)The 13-disc set is made up of films 1-5 (5-discs) in 4k/ films 1-5 (5-discs) in Blu-ray/ Fallout 3-discs 1 4k, 1 Blu-ray and 1 special-featuresYOUR MISSION SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPTMISSION IMPOSSIBLE -The opening mission goes belly-up the team directed by 'Jim Phelps' (Jon Voight) and led by 'Ethan Hunt' (Tom Cruise)are seemingly drawn into a trap and are ambushed, they had been trying to prevent 'agent identification' falling intothe wrong hands....now, other than 'Nathan Hunt' and it seems 'Claire' (Emmanuelle Beard) the team are all dead.'Nathan' quickly realizes his team had been betrayed by an insider, but who? ....as things stand, he is prime suspect, andis being sought by the agency. He is now on a mission to clear his name and find the 'mole' however the agency does not play by the rules, 'Nathan's'Mother and Uncle are arrested on a trumped-up-charge which is a good publicist to force him to surface and give himself up, hoping his Mother will understand he has to continue his quest to uncover the truth, though there are few he can trust tohelp.........he will find that everything had not been as it had seemed following the earlier mission. The film also stars 'Vanessa Redgrave' as 'Max' and 'Ving Rhames' as 'Luther Stickell'A great beginning to what has become a stunning series in terms of action, suspense and indeed stunts, many of which 'TomCruise' does himself (quite something almost 20 years on from this the first in the series)M.I '2'This time 'Ethan' (Tom Cruise) partnered by 'Nyah Hall' (Thandie Newton) a master-thief whose skills he'll need theyare on the trail of a rogue agent 'Sean Ambrose' (Dougray Scott) who has acquired a deadly virus stolen from a bio-chemist. a fact that 'Ethan' is yet to learn of, if the virus falls into the wrong hands it could have deadly consequencesfor an unsuspecting World.......failure on the mission is not an option.Again 'Ethan' is ably assisted by computer and technical whiz 'Luther Stickell' (Ving Rhames)This again a suspense-filled roller-coaster-ride with some superb action sequences and jaw-dropping stunts, 'Cruise'quite simply electric in the role of special-agent 'Ethan Hunt' along with a suitably credible villain role for 'DougrayScott) also among the cast list 'Anthony Hopkins' as mission-commander 'Swanbeck'Another very entertaining instalment in the Mission Impossible Movie-Series,MISSION IMPOSSIBLE '3''Ethan Hunt' (Tom Cruise) is lured back into action by his agency superiorsHe is assigned to rescue captured agent 'Lindsey Farris' (Keri Russell) who is being held in a factory in Berlin by'Arms and Information' dealer 'Owen Davian's' (Philip Seymour Hoffman) organisation, 'Ethan's' team, friendand trusted colleague technical and computer whiz 'Luther Stickell' ( Ving Rhames) along with agents 'Declan'(Johnathan Rhys Meyers) and 'Zhen Lei' (Maggie Q) the operation goes well but it's outcome tragic. They had taken heavily damaged computers from the factory hoping to acquire information on the elusive anddangerous 'Davian' ...the discs are badly charred, however 'Benji' (Simon Pegg) manages to extract some info fromthem, it seems 'Davian' is attending a function at the 'Vatican' ...it seems he has something to sell ...'The Rabbit'sFoot'......but, what is it?With the part-message, 'Ethan' had watched left by agent 'Farris' coupled with the need for the evening the score and the need to discover what 'The Rabbit's Foot' is, 'Ethan' and his team set off on an unofficial mission to snatch'Davian' from the function at the 'Vatican'Though seemingly successful in their quest it seems that 'Davian's' resources will make him a subject difficult tohang on to.Whilst in 'Ethan's' custody 'Davian swears that 'Ehan's' wife will witness him being killed by him.........well thethe ruthless adversary is in fact sprung from his captivity, trouble is, 'Ethan' though still, not knowing what he's in fact got is now in possession of the 'Rabbit's Foot' and 'Davian' wants it back, kidnapping 'Ethan's' wife to get back what is his seems the best way to achieve it.'Ethan' will obviously have to try and rescue 'Julia' (Michelle Monaghan) without any backing from the 'M.I.F' whohe now has trust issues with. Also, among the cast-list - 'Laurence Fishburne' as agency chief 'Theodore Brassel' and as his number two 'Billy Crudup'as 'John Musgrave'* The 'late' 'Philip Seymour Hoffman' gives a masterful performance as the villain.Another action-packed spectacle with the usual stunts and special-effects package........these films are for me....pure and exciting entertainment which generates the rating I give.MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL -The only polite thing to do if your locked-up in a Russian prison if the doors become open - you walkout....'Ethan Hunt' (Tom Cruise) is sprung from the Russian Prison by Computer and Technical Whiz 'Benji' (Simon Pegg) and agent'Jane Carter' (Paula Patton) ...of course there is a mission afoot for which Top-Agent 'Hunt' is essential, they have to infiltratethe Kremlin, however, the mission is aborted when 'Ethan' picks up a radio communication which indicates a bomb is about tobe detonated inside the Kremlin itself. The Soviet Secret-Service point the finger of responsibility for the outrage firmly toward the M.I.F'Ethan' and his team 'Benji' - 'Jane' and joined by 'Brandt' (Jeremy Renner) set out to clear the agency of responsibility for the act,it soon becomes obvious the bomb attack was a diversion to cover theft. The team uncover a plot by a known activist to start a nuclear war.......the team's mission against all odds is to save humanity fromthe very real threat posed, it will stretch the resources of the team to the limit, of course, they dare not fail.......is it really MissionImpossible ??Nice to see 'Ving Rhames' featured in a brief cameo role ...For me, the mission series just gets better every time, great action, terrific special-effects and even more well-staged andextravagant stunts along with a good measure of humour.Entertaining watch....again.MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION -The M.I.F are in danger of being wound up, C.I.A Director 'Alan Huntley' (Alec Baldwin) has told the Senatethat he believes the team to be too reckless.'The resourceful 'Ethan Hunt' (Tom Cruise) is seemingly out of circulation, 'Huntley' has ordered his operativesto shut him down, but where is he, does either 'William Brandt' (Jeremy Renner) or another former team member'Benji' (Simon Pegg) both now attached to the C.I.A know where 'Ethan' is ? ....''Huntley' believes so.A rogue organisation known as the 'Syndicate' possibly manned by former International-Agents with equal skillsto that of the M.I.F team have been trying to eliminate 'Ethan' and the Mission team, 'Ethan' is determined tohunt down the Syndicate and close them down to do so he'll need his team alongside him.'Ethan' has put much faith in 'Ilsa Faust' (Rebecca Ferguson) who had earlier saved his life, but who is she reallyworking for, 'The Syndicate' or perhaps another or maybe even herself either way 'Ethan's' faith will be put to thetest.'Benji' is the first to link up with friend and colleague 'Ethan' to try and bring down 'Solomon Lane's' (Sean Harris)the organisation, 'Brandt' will join them along with former computer/technical - whiz 'Luther Stickell'(Ving Rhames) who needs very little persuading to help his friend in needAnother exciting instalment in the Mission series with its usual mix of action, stunts, special effects and humour to again, make this a must-see.MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUTHad been looking forward to watching this one, seems it took it's time to become available on Blu-ray, (original-(purchase) however, the wait was worth it.Your Mission should you choose to accept......only this time it goes wrong as Ethan played by Tom Cruise chooses the life of his close associate Luther(Ving Rhames) over retrieving the plutonium he was supposed to do..However, Ethan with the help of Luther and Benji (Simon Pegg) is determined to hunt down the mysterious leader of the Apostles who threaten to trigger a series of nuclear hits.Trouble is because he'd let the rogue group escape with the plutonium he now has a shadow August Walker played by Henri Cavill imposed upon him by the C.I.A Director..........The chase will take them to Paris, London and finishing up in KashmirCan the team who are joined again by Ilsa (Rebecca Ferguson) prevent the evil intent of the Apostle Organisation or will this be one mission too far for Ethan and his team. ?A superb action-packed thrill ride that excites at every turn certainly doesn't disappoint.Tom Cruise still does many of his own stunts, kinda wonder how much longer he'll do this especially after breaking his ankle doing a roof-top jump whilst filming this one.I certainly enjoyed this one as indeed I have with what has gone before..............If a fan you'll not want to miss this one.EXCITING, ACTION-PACKED MOVIE-SERIES (SUPERB SPECIAL-EFFECTS THROUGHOUT) (4K GREATLY IMPROVES VIEWING PLEASURE)

The Star Wars of Secret Agent movies.
Upon watching the movie series twice. The plots are indeed clear. It's very watchable and contains outstanding stunt action scenes. Tom Cruise is very strong as the IMF super agent. The situations he gets involved in fighting enemies are such it's amazing he survives. At one point he hangs off a mountain with just one hand. No climbing equipment. The syndicate movies feature totally evil enemies. Loved the motorbike chases. Simon pegg is also excellent as the top class British actor brought in as an IMF support agent. Being older generation. It took me two viewings to really appreciate the opus of the six great movies. Excellent movies.

Tom Cruise mega-box!
The Tom Cruise Mission: Impossible movie series is one that I find a little unusual. When films make a mass of sequels, usually its a case of that the more they release, the lower the over all quality is. A perfect example would be Star Wars with the imperfect prequels and the god awful sequels. A more recent example would Pirated of the Caribbean. A fun three part trilogy ruined by two pointless cash-ins. In the case of Mission: Impossible, it actually gets better as it goes along. I never saw that coming. The first movie is a straight up spy movie. It's got some great action set pieces but is more focused on breaking into vaults and less on impressive car chases. The second movie is a John Woo film. It's full of really silly looking bike chases, gun fights and has very little story. Being a Woo film, it shouldn't come as a surprise. But with Mission: Impossible 3, not only is the film more focused, better written and directed, but it easily has the series' best villain. It's a huge jump in quality from the second film and the series remains this consistently good. Ghost Protocol is very tight, very funny and has one of my favourite stunts from any film. Rogue Nation changes the format a little. It's a lot faster paced but is tightly packed and very well done. Fallout feels like a direct sequel to the previous film. It has the same vibe and style. It's well paced, it has great dialogue and some tremendous stunt work. The film series is a visual treat. Each stunt is as equally impressive as it is breathtaking. Seeing Tom Cruise hang out of a large air plane, mount a large skyscraper or sky dive out of a plane is intense. The actual stories are good with exception of the second. There's some great support actors like Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Henry Cavill, Billy Crudup and the sorely missed Philip Seymour Hoffman. Each one has great dialogue and play their own memorable parts in each film. The series looked good on the previous bluray prints but this is a huge jump in quality, especially for the first film. The original movie was by far the least impressive high definition transfer but now, it looks utterly fantastic. Each film has a lot of detail, heaps of depth and strong colours. Not one of them are smeared to remove any sort of film grain and look stunning on a large 5k television. The sound for the discs are also quite impressive. The 5.1 mixes are all very solid but the 7.1 in the most recent films really steal the show. It brings out all the punches, smashes and bangs that the series has to offer.I had a lot of fun binging these movies over the space of a week. The whole family enjoyed them in fact. The box-set does appear to be a bit pricey, but do remember. Not only do you get six movies in 4k, but each one also has a bluray disc with the movie for standard players and the extra features. I think that this is reasonable at full price. It would have been nicer had I bought it on discount but at £11 or so per movie, it's hard to complain. These films are some of the best action films to come out of Hollywood in recent times and are well worth adding to your collection.
