This is pure, high quality, Tung oil. I have been finishing wood for 50+ years. I have learned # 1 is to use quality materials. I can tell it's fresh, you can smell the difference, as old oils tend to smell with age. This product is rich and thick, I thinned it down with pure orange oil and real pure turpentine,1part tung oil and 1part each of the others and it applied nice and even on hard sugar maple, sugar maple doesn't like to soak up anything evenly. I buy a half gallon at a time, after thinning out to my liking of use, I get way more than a gallon of very high quality finish! hopefully my time on earth will allow me to continue purchasing. thank you.

Give it plenty of time to cure between coats and this will give you a beautiful lasting finish. Tung oil can’t be beat and this is a good one!

I bought this for my concrete kitchen countertops. (I applied about 10 coats, as the concrete kept absorbing it.) It holds up well, but I have to reapply it to areas where the soap has been on for more than a few hours. I'm careful not to put anything hot or chemicals on it. I assume it would damage it. It repels water. Overall, I'm pleased with the results.

I used this oil on my raised garden beds, and I’m really impressed. It was super easy to apply, and it gave the wood a nice semi-gloss finish that made the natural grain pop without looking too shiny. I love how it brought out the color—it looks fresh and polished now! Plus, I feel good knowing the wood is better protected from the weather. Definitely recommend if you want something that works and makes your garden look great.

So I built this chopping block surface for my kitchen island, and until now, I had been using all mineral oil based products and not fully satisfied, as it always felt kinda filmy ( didn't really make me want to use the surfaces for meal prep or baking ), always galled up my sand paper when trying to refinish, and the level of water-proofing and stain-resistance was questionable. SO I started doing research and found that Tung oil is a food-safe alternative that is far better than the mineral oil, or mineral oil and wax finishes... One of the things I loved, straight away, was the appearance... The cured surface is matte, but yet, it brings out the beautiful, almost opalescent luster of the maple grain. But further, once dry, water beads right up and sits on top of the surface, instead of wicking in. This gives ample time to be able to do clean-up without staining or rings. Most of all, the lack of filmy residue makes the surface much cleaner and easy to maintain, and it actually makes one more confident using it for its intended purpose, which is food prep and baking. I will certainly buy this again, when it comes time, and now that the block has been fully refurbished and the base is down, the next pass will probably only be a wipe-coat after a light scuff with some gray scotch-brite or 00 steel wool. Definitely pleased with the results, even after a full month and MANY loaves of sourdough later

A one inch brush just fits, 3/4 inch would make it a bit easier, also get one with long handle. I have never used Tung oil before. It is much thicker than other food safe wood protection I have used, but does give excellent coverage, I used it liberally on inside and outside of both cedar planters pictured. The will be used as seasonal herb gardens so having food safe product is important. The finish looks and feels like beeswax and is much easier to apply. Also, there is no scent of any kind and clean up is simply soap and water. ***highly recommend.

I recently ran out of a popular Hardware Store bought container of Tung Oil which i had used for years and it worked great, i went back to the Hardware Store and re-purchased a container of the same tung oil i had previously used, it was terrible, I'm assuming they added some type solvent because it left absolutely zero oil on the surface. I decided to check Amazon and purchased this product, it is pure tung oil, zero solvent additives and has worked great on the wood projects i used it on. i totally recommend this product.

Good product easy to apply

Bought this for coating a set of wooden blocks that I made for my grandson. Very fool proof to apply. Did a great job! It does take a couple weeks to fully cure but leaves a good finish. I have since used it on some outdoor furniture and seems to be working very well! I would buy this again but you do not use very much of it so this bottle will likely last me some time!
