Very tasty!!! A little bit hotter than medium.
So very good! It’s a bit on the spicier end of The spectrum so taste before adding the whole package if you’re a mild to medium spice lover. If you like medium to hot, it’s perfect. Really good flavor!!!

If you want spicy add more seasoning
Been Longing to try Birria tacos... but just couldn't pull the trigger on $20+ for two "bombs".... Ordered this and set out to try it asap. Followed the directions, only used steak tips instead of a chuck roast. PEOPLE use a Roast... much easier to shred. So the house smells amazing! And the meat is tender and good, just a little bland. DONT fault the mix, it says add salt. Several reviewers added much more, onions peppers, and other spices. I Added some Dan'os Chipotle that helped a lot... I don't want to add a bunch of salt anyway. Good stuff.

Spices not quite balanced
I usually make birria from scratch with goat or lamb as it’s much tastier than beef, but wanted to create a dry seasoning recipe for my pops who lives in a country where he can’t get most of the ingredients. Then I thought “I bet someone already sells it” and here I am. The instructions are simple to follow (including add salt for those that have complained about the lack of salt) and it’s easy to make in a slow cooker or pressure cooker. I chose the pressure cooker route as that’s how I usually make birria and everything went according to plan. The problem is the spice balance is off, at least for me and all the birria I’ve tried and make. It’s a little too heavy on the all spice/cinnamon end which throws the dish off. Birria is a pretty blanched dish with nothing really overpowering any of the other flavors. Maybe it’s a regional thing, I’ll be sure to sample as much of it when I’m in Jalisco. It’s not a bad spice kit, just needs more balance, but I think I’ll try and figure out my own blend.

Taste Weird
So I bought this seasoning expecting it to be at least half way decent but I was totally disappointed, in fact, I was making birria with with steak meat (obviously) and after it was done I tasted the sauce and something tasted weird, and very very much like a soapy flavor, I ended up throwing the entire batch of slow cooked beef and all ingredients away, then for days I was wondering why did my food taste kind of like soap?? Then one day I decided to taste this seasoning all by itself and poured some in my hand and licked it and to my surprise that soapy taste was actually from this seasoning packet, now and I quote, I am not saying that there is soap in this product all I'm saying is that for me, my taste buds recognized soap flavor in my brain and made it non edible for me, I will definitely not purchase this product again, maybe you'll have a different experience, but for me, this is an absolutely no go. Update: I had a friend taste the seasoning directly from an unopened package just to verify that it wasn't my taste buds that were a little off, they poured some of the seasoning in their hand and tasted it and was immediately appalled by the taste, they also confirmed that it has a soapy like taste, they said that there is absolutely nothing they can do with it and they said it taste like something you shouldn't be eating, anyways, to each his own, 2 different taste testers, same results, thumbs down.
