Great monitor for the price
This is my first LED backlit monitor, and it's mostly brilliant. There are a couple of things worth noting, which I'll mention later.Things I like:- Looks good.- Picture quality is great.- The stand isn't wobbly.- It accepts VGA, DVI and HDMI inputs.- Different modes, e.g. standard, economy, movie etc. that are easy to cycle throughThings I'd change:- I'd prefer buttons on the front instead of the side- Navigating the menu is fiddly - and not helped by having the buttons on the sideEverything worked out of the box - no setting up required (I use Xubuntu). After a bit of testing I decided I needed a dimmer screen, so used the standard mode modified to 50% brightness. I think I also minimized the "sharpness" setting. The viewing modes are great, because as with most modern monitors, the default brightness is very bright indeed. In the evening I switch to a different mode, which I've configured to be dim (0% brightness), to spare my eyes. This is easily done by pressing a button on the side of the monitor - you don't have to go through menu options. That leads me to my only criticism, which is screen flicker. It's not about this monitor in particular - I'm fairly sure it applies to almost all LED backlit monitors. When the screen isn't at full brightness, it flickers a bit. You can't see it flicker, but after a few hours you might notice your eyes feeling strained. Even so, it's not too bad, and I still use the monitor as much as my previous monitor - I just use it a bit brighter than I'd like and have a well-lit room.To give you an idea of whether it might bother you, here's how I got on with CRT monitors at different refresh rates:60Hz : completely unusable70Hz: not good - tolerable for a couple of hours at most75Hz: usable for many hours, but doesn't feel right80Hz: ok85Hz: perfectAs you can see, I'm more sensitive to this kind of thing than most people. I used to suffer from headaches in the 90s due to poor monitors at work. I don't have these problems with this monitor, but if you're sensitive to flicker you will notice a difference between this monitor and the older LCD (non-LED) monitors unless you turn up the brightness.Overall, I'm happy with this monitor and I'm not planning on changing it.

Superb!
I bought this to replace my old 19" 4:3 monitor as I wanted a widescreen monitor that I could wall mount. Looking through the list of similar monitors available at this price point I was hard pressed to find one that had wall mounting capability. This seems to be the only one you can wall mount so it gets extra pints for that. When first deployed I used the included stand which I found to be sturdy and quite good looking. However, when my wall mount arrived it was a doddle to attach to the wall with standard flush holes on the back of the monitor which attached to the mount easily. The default picture is a little bright and washed out for my taste but is easily adjustable. It's not a massive improvement on my 5 year old Dell monitor but obviously has the advantage of being widescreen. It now sits off my desk allowing more room for bits and bobs and fits the space on the wall perfectly. Just so you know, it's about the same height as a 19" square monitor but about 50% wider. My old monitor didn't have speakers so I'd invested in decent set which means I won't be using the inbuilt speakers so cannot review them. All in all it's a lovely monitor for the price which performs as I'd expect it to with the bonus of being wall mountable.Edit November 2015 - I've just bought my 3rd of these monitors and was hoping to be able to clear my work desk of my old speakers as well as the 19 inch CRT monitor. However, the speakers are absolute pants :( I mean they are BAD, real BAD and they are rear facing! Still 5 stars though as a monitor is all about the picture quality isn't it?

Excellent monitor
The product arrived well packed and well ahead of schedule (I ordered it on a monday evening and it arrived Wednesday Morning). It took almost no setting up (just slotting the base into the actual screen) and it came with it's own VGA cable (but I had to provide my own HDMI cable). I use it for gaming and it is connected to my ps3 via HDMI, the picture quality is excellent. It has built in speakers, these aren't great. They are fine for games but if your going to be watching movies your going to want external speakers (the monitor speakers have the quality of slightly louder laptop speakers). The monitor does however have an AUX out, so you can connect speakers through the monitor. You can either chose a preset for the picture or you can manually make your own. Despite other reviews I have found the menu reasonably user friendly. It's price is great! It is at least £20 or £30 cheaper than it's equal competitors. To conclude, it is a great monitor. The only mild downside is the quality of the built in speakers, but to be honest most people who would want good sound wouldn't expect it in a monitor like this one. plus for the price who could complain. All in all well chuffed with it.
