Having used many different and lower priced thermometers, we were frustrated by the length of time others take to give a reading. This provides really fast readings, certainly within the three second published claims. You will need to start testing the temperature of food much earlier during the cooking process to prevent over-doing things and we find it helpful to write new cooking times as guidelines for checking before it gets overdone. The more unusual colours tend to be cheaper but if you buy the scilicone cover as well, you can't tell what colour the thermometer is in any event. It is larger than every other thermometer we have used but it fits in your hand with a good secure feel to it. Would suggest you get thermometer/probe wipes as well though as it does not turn off unless you place the probe back into the handle resting point and it should be clean before you do that. Otherwise, it will automatically turn off after about 10 minutes if you leave the probe out of its resting place. Would certainly recommend this product for people who are interested in cooking by temperature rather than cooking times. All cooking times recommended in books we own have been found to be too long when using thermometers. Cheaper thermometers will probably do for those who are less interested in getting fast readings.

Very fast and very accurate straight out of the box. Because it's so fast it already gets a lot of use and helps avoid over cooking food 'just to be sure'. Quite expensive even at the £36 currently charged on amazon but it's worth the money compared to other less expensive, less capable products.The only downside is the calibration certificate; it's 3 years old! I guess that's why they're selling them at a reduced price; lack of sales on the dodgy colours has probably left them sitting on shelves for a while.This is a quality product that does what it says on the box. The instructions are comprehensive but easy to follow and there's a handy guide to safe food temperatures.Highly recommended.

Invaluable bit of kit for so many kitchen jobs, and comes with a brilliant reference booklet with cooking temperatures for an array of things. Mine has already been used for sugar work (making jams, fruit pastilles and italian meringue), low n' slow american barbecue (stopped me serving undercooked beer can chicken), and cake baking (ok, I could have just used the does a toothpick come out clean trick, but the thermapen was there, so why not use it.)If you are the kind of person that does a lot of baking or BBQ, I would class this as a solid investment.

Excellent product ive used mine for nearly a year.Helps to cook meat just the way you want it and it comes with a card with pictures of the food and what temperatures it should be when the product is cooked.It does say its only a guide but it has helped me a lot.I cook frozen meals a lot and follow guidelines from the packaging but all ovens are different so the product might not be cooked properly and its best to double check with this to ensure its been cooked to correct temperature.Its my way of ensuring I don't get food poising from following guidelines or not following guidelines correctly.

As I do not have a temperature controlled fryer, I have found this particularly useful for deep frying in batches to keep the oil at a consistent temperature, and with a bit of practice I can also get the probe into the food in the fryer to check if cooked in the centre. It is very fast and easy to clean.The different colours available are for when used in a professional kitchen so that a specific thermometer can be used on each type of food to avoid cross contamination, but for home use just pick one of the cheaper colours and clean it properly before going from one food to another.

Brilliant piece of kitchen kit! It takes the guess work out of cooking and when reheating dishes it gives the "inside" info so you know that the dish is ready to eat and not cold in the middle. It's fast and accurate - no more cutting open of bbq meats to see if they're done - insert the probe and check temperatures on the booklet provided to see if the meat is done to the safe temperature .

Jedes Gerät kommt mit einem per Hand ausgefüllten Messprotokoll in einer ordentlichen Verpackung mit Dokumentation.Es ist nicht mit den Chinaböllern zu vergleichen und auch das sonst so gelobte Maverick ist haptisch deutlich schlechter.1 Punkt Abzug müsste ich für die lange Lieferzeit machen. Hier geht es aber um das Produkt und nicht um den Händler. Also volle Ausschüttung - ohne wenn und aber.

It is not easy to find the right thermometer for preparing coffee or tea. I bought the Thermapen and I am happy so far after 2 months of everyday use.It is sturdy and very fast. There is another new model which is apparently even faster, but this one is plenty quick in temperature reading.My other two thermometers, one from Ikea and 2 from Extech they broke and stopped working quite soon. If you rely on your thermometer reading for crucial things, like fermentation, coffee, tea, beer brewing.. this one will fit the bill!

Habe gelesen, dass sich zwei Sensoren 0,3 mm von der Spitze entfernt darin befinden sollen. Ein Kalibrierungszertifikat ist dabei, welches 0,0 ° Abweichung attestiert.Das einzige, das man beachten muss, ist das Gehäuse des Thermometer nicht in Flüssigkeiten unterzutauchen.Ein sehr gutes/genaues Thermometer, das ich gerne weiterempfehle.

Ich habe mir das Thermapen für schnelle Kurzzeitmessung gekauft.Wenn man die Nachkommastelle ausschaltet ist es wirklich superfast. Und genau ist es auch.Ich kann es uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

...etwas teurer, aber dafür schnell und wertig. Wer etwas Geld sparen möchte, muss sich die unpopulären Farben aussuchen, diese sind günstiger.

Habe das Thermometer auf Empfehlung hin gekauft. Lieferung ging sehr schnell direkt aus UK. Die Verarbeitung ist top. Eine ausführliche Anleitung und ein Kalibrierzertifikat liegen bei. Ebenso ein Heft mit vielen Tipps. Wenn es so lange hält, wie mir gesagt wurde, ist es das Geld auch wert.
