TomTom Truck Sat Nav GO Professional 520 with European Maps and Traffic Services (via Smartphone) Updates via WI-FI, Designed for Truck, Coach, Bus and Large Vehicles

Got this after buying a navpal sorry but they may look similar but that’s where it ends. This device may have paid for services but you really do get what you pay for. I have lifetime free world maps and I also had a trial for speed cameras which I never waited to end I simply paid for the service as it not only brings camera but accidents black spots and other stuff a HGV driver needs. You can also have live updates which you must tether to your phone but they are great have saved me loads of time. It automatically re’routes you to the next best available road that is suitable for your vehicle. You can adjust from an oversized load to ADR and Hazardous load so to stick to specific routes. You have control over the length width height and max speed also if you wish to use certain roads. It’s a real truckers sat nav and I highly recommend it you won’t be let down. That is the good points now for some points that let it down a little , it’s not as fast as others when working out routes but hey you have your 10 min walk round and usually a few mins extra and you can plan your route from your phone and send it over to your GPS for when you start work so this negates it as a downside. It’s a little more complicated to use but not overly and I use it everyday even on routes I know like the back of my hand. If I can do it so can you honestly if this was the least of my worry’s my life would be the best you can have in my truck. It is a older model 2019 but as I said you can update the maps as needed once done it’s game on and job done. If you should around I used Amazon used section and got my unit for £130 instead of the £250 and it had no marks or scratch’s so if you get this option use it. It only means that a person opened and did not like it or something else no idea what but it’s brand new. Recap it does exactly what it says on the box “ I would recommend buying a storage box you can get them on Amazon for £15 it’s stores all your cables and the unit for the window” this little unit counts you into average speed areas and out again , also gives you the ability to report a mobile speed camera when you pass which is updated for other drivers. I know we can’t really speed as a uk driver unless it’s in a lower speed area but that’s on you if you get caught. Would I recommend it YES 100% at this price point which I got mine I would recommend it everyday. The cheap ones you can buy are just that cheap and I am sure will do the job but as I said Navpal broke on me had me driving through fields if I was silly enough to listen to it eg the A75 heading to Carlisle if you drive this route you know what I mean oh and it broke after it was out of the return 30 days so I have a gps that useless. Waste of money and time. Tried to contact them and get nothing. Buy correct first time and save yourself money and effort TomTom is the way to go.

Used for a month now with no real problems, my only issue is that the search function isn't great at finding points of interest but I cross reference it with Google maps and find the place that way

Easy to use & gets you where you want to go taking good route

The unit itself is great, just app on the phone that keeps disconnecting.

It has been nearly 15 years since I last brought a sat nav. I would've expected technology to have moved forward a bit since then, but....I'm a newly qualified hgv driver so I thought I would be best going with a reputable brand. However, the sat nav is awfully slow even with plenty of storage remaining. The screen is often unresponsive meaning that your constantly having to tap it to get a response from it. The most up to date map is surprisingly out of date. The short duration of"free" speed camera updates seem pointless feature unless you willingly drive dangerously. The route planning on your phone and sending it to the device doesn't work most of the time even after reconnecting your phone through Bluetooth and portable hotpot. The traffic monitoring feature also rarely works. The menu for inputting vehicle dimensions and weights is not as comprehensive as other cheaper satnavs. All in all I'm very disappointed with this satellite navigation. I was lured in by the so called reputation as an established brand and regret it significantly. There's very little in the way of positives except for the fact that the mount it comes with seems solid, suction cup works well with no moisture required. Battery life is okay. Sat nav feels well made to touch. The route choices so far have mostly been reliable except one. (I have only used this sat nav for less than two full weeks so far).UPDATE: I have persevered with this sat nav for a couple of months now and I can honestly say it's probably the most disappointing purchase I have ever made.The sat nav crashes and turns off briefly during journeys. The bridge detection is awful as it sometimes think your going over a low bridge rather than under it.The app is still extremely unreliable. I feel like I've brought a sat nav that is just the same as the ones from ten to fifteen years ago.I would not recommend this product to newly qualified HGV drivers. The idea of being able to search for addresses on your phone and send the the sat nav is a great idea but only if it works.

You still have to be careful it will take you un accessable roads

Having used this a good few weeks now, I wish I'd bought either faster model or another make.The direction software it self isn't too bad, some of its instructions at junctions are a bit odd, not stating the correct road, but the road it leads to? Not like Google that is excellent (but not hgv compliant).Maps are clear and easy to follow.Speed cameras are announced with a bong sound.Speech instructions are clear and appropriate.2 main problems.1. Interface speed. This is slow, frustratingly slow. I didn't think speed would be an issue but its that slow it is.2. Traffic connection. Traffic is via blue tooth and your phone. But the Bluetooth app keeps crashing on my phone and I end up driving with no traffic up dates. So I am running google at the same time.... not good cos Google thinks you are in a car so the routes may not be appropriate for a wagon. If you get diverted for road works things could get sticky real fast.The mydrive app sometime doesn't connect to the device so sending routes and destinations fails at times.I suggest either more advanced unit or another make

Un gps para vehículos grandes.Duante muchos años yo he usado el TomTom 6250.Este se lo he comprado a mi hijo porque el 6250 ya no se vende.Este 620 es igual.la única diferencia es que el 6250 tenía incorporada una tarjeta sim.Recomendable sin duda para camiones grandes.Es mi experiencia después de 30 años como profesional.j
