Workbench 1.45m Long (5ft) 40mm Solid Beech Top

Bought as a belated Xmas gift for my husband. He is absolutely enthral led by this. It arrived in three hefty packs, so well packaged and protected ... we saw some bruised & dented wood poking through the plastic wrapping, but this turned out to be additional timber struts used to protect the timber itself! Everything well put together and planned out, the screw holes were all in the right place, and the full colour instructions were crystal clear. The finished article is solid, heavy and to be honest, quite beautiful. The only change my husband made was to counter sink the screws on the slats bracing the base ( the shelf) plus he's offset the top counter to give him enough room to mount a heavy vice. (On a more girly note, I was struck by what a great butchers block island unit this would make in a kitchen ... you could spend a lot more and not get anything so solid ... plus it's built " mansized" so it's just a bit taller than standard kitchen units ... great if you're tall like me! ) Absolutely delighted and highly recommended! And it smells wonderful!

The workbench is excellent. Instructions for assembly were straightforward, and it is solidly constructed - a great addition to my workshop. In common with several other reviewers, my only complaint relates to the delivery company. They were asked not to deliver on two specific dates, as we would be away, but chose to do so anyway. Thanks to good neighbours there was not a practical problem. The suppliers were excellent, and passed on our request re delivery (written on the delivery note)

I was taken with this workbench by the photograph initially. When I read the product detail I wondered if it might be too high to be comfortable to use. Obviously the homework has been done, walk up to it with your eyes closed and put your hands out ! No more bad backs for me crouched over an old office desk doubling up as a workbench. This is the business, not only that - my wife said "What a lovely smell of wood" when it was assembled. I thoroughly recommend this to anyone thinking of buying a workbench.

This is a really solidly built workbench. I'm using it for woodworking, and it's certainly stable enough. The beech top does need some oiling (I gave it three coats of Danish Oil). My only small gripe is that a few of the softwood frame pieces were quite roughly sawn/finished and required sanding down to improve their appearance. Overall though, good value for money.

This product is great, it is strong robust and looks the part, I have fitted a vice on the bench it does wobble a bit when cutting big items but the bench was purchased for DIY not industrial use, and a bit of wobble is not a problem as you cut with one hand and hold the bench with the other, and if that is still a problem secure it to the floor. it is well made and went together easily it is well worth the money, well recommended.

Excellent service, excellent, very sturdy bench, easy to assemble, as long as you get help as the top is very heavy! Wife saw the top and now wants a kitchen made of it! 😕

Excellent workbench - well made and fitted perfectly. The only thing I would agree with is that you really do need to drill pilot holes into the beechwood top, as the screws supplied will never penetrate hardwood such as beech. But very pleased with it, and it very sturdy - perfect for my ceramic work.

Solid, easy to assemble, good value. It is inspiring me to create. Following my installation of the bench in the shed, I have been able to repair everything in the house that needed fixing.
