Works exactly as described. The legs are made of snap-on pieces that are easy to assemble or disassemble. Comes with some desktop-protectors for the bottom of the legs. The drawer is capacious and comes with dividers. The drawer has a slightly annoying sound of plastic friction, but a bit of beeswax or petroleum jelly helps to quiet. The top is big enough and strong enough for today's modern large-but-light flat-screen monitors. While the color is dark, I appreciate how light floods the area beneath it, lightening the mood when at work at my desk.

I actually bought this as a printer stand. The drawer holds a ream of letter size paper just about perfectly and I can slide a drawerorganizer basket underneath. The legs have little blocks that you can add on or remove to make it higher or lower. It works perfectly for my purposes. You can keep pens or pencils in the little slots on the sides.

So glad to have found this. My chiropractor told me that hunching over the laptop was bad for my neck, that it could cause forward head posture. This raises the laptop up just about 6 inches, right to eye level. It has a drawer for storing odds and ends, etc. and is very steady. I have a cooling fan between the laptop and the stand and the laptop doesn't slip off at all. Very sturdy.

If you don't mind cheap crappy plastic on your desk, then I'm sure you will like this. I returned this.
