IMO -- Best Book on Electional/Horary Astrology
I've perused numerous books on electional and horary astrology, and as always, March and McEvers are meticulous when it comes to enumerating the necessary steps to follow. Not for the faint hearted, however. At least an intermediate if not advanced knowledge of astrology would be helpful in order to decipher this necessary contribution to the subject. I know astrology techniques pretty well, but it had even me scratching my head a few times. But persistence pays off! Great book.

I recommend these books before diving into more comprehensive books.
I have only worked with the first volume of the series, but my expectation is that each volume will be as useful and easy to learn from.

Not the Only Way to Learn About Horary
I wanted to so badly to give this book 5 stars, but I'm definitely no novice at astrology, but I'm new to doing Horary on my own and wanted to learn it because I'm sure I've spent thousands of dollars on Horary charts as I find them to be accurate more than 90% of the time, but the authors don't explain in detail some of their examples. In timing with astrology chapter it states, "ruler of the 10th house in the 9th..." what? Also, it doesn't give good instruction as to how to count degrees between ruling planets. As difficult as they claim (along with every other astrologer) that timing is, that chapter should have been longer. I've been textbook studying astrology since 2009 and I have so many books because so many astrologers leave so much to be desired. Like tech people who forget that not everyone understands their language completely. I'm a Retirement Analyst and when I'm talking to someone that is a novice I don't throw around words like QPSA, QOSA, ERISA, 50% J &S, Optional Forms, Act Val, Qualified Dro, etc. because I know I have to speak the language of the student. I have come to realize that I need a teacher in the flesh so I can ask questions. I refuse to buy anymore astrology books. Going broke here. It IS a good book, and I DO recommend it because I did glean good info from it. I just wish they'd explain what they mean a little more. It won't be the last astrology book you need. My astrology skills are intermediary and I've still spent hours trying to read and reread and understand.

Horary Astrology
One of the better books, if not the best book, on the subject of Horary. You can learn quite a bit as a beginner to Horary and it's incredibly clear and useful for those with more experience. It would be very tricky to learn Horary without any background in astrology because certain subjects from traditional astrology including rulerships and depositors, and the classification for dignities and debilities, is complex enough without a teacher. Once you get that area of Traditional Astrology which is also called Medieval Astrology, it's easy enough to understand. One of the greatest blessings in this field, is to have a terrific teacher near to you with whom you resonate. March and Mcevers are clearly fantastic teachers.I'm coming to Horary late in my studies which have been for a lifetime starting late at age 17.Id like to recommend Horary to be the first subject to study in Astrology. This foundation will always carry you throughput your study of any branch of astrology. This book is a reliable resource for Horary.

Last in series but not least.
Unfortunately the last in the series, but highly recommended. Each takes you through a subject Joan McEvers takes you through the basics of horary astrology and through her many examples leaves you feeling proficient and able to cope with answering any horary question. She's done all the preparations and through experience has whittled down what works for her out of the many rules from antiquity. My mind had so many questions that I could think of answering that I had to distract myself. Marion D. March takes you through Electional astrology something I had no idea how to start before but now I will give it a go. Knowing what you are looking for helps, and I feel confident that I might get a reasonable chart for whatever event is in question. As they keep reminding you practice makes a master. So now I've read all six books that's what I'll be doing, practice, practice, practice.

Best of the best
These series of Astrology books really are all you will ever need. It really is like it says in the title "the only way to learn Astrology".Each aspect of Astrology is dealt with in individual books from the very beginning through application.I have the complete series and really wished I had discovered them earlier as for me they are really easy to work with.I do recommend starting with the first book if you are new to Astrology, but for everyone each book stands alone as a unique "lesson" packed with information and logical applications. I cannot rate them highly enough they are really the best.I
