The 21-Day Sugar Detox Daily Guide
Simply outstanding! The book is practical, simple to follow, and the recipes are easy. I despise planning means and cooking, but the author of this book, made it simple and fun. (cooking bores the day lights out of me). I highly recommend this book if you are serious about a The 21-Day Sugar Detox Daily Guide.

I love the layout of this book
I love the layout of this book. It is a daily guide with a meal plan to go with it. Diane is pretty spot on with how you might be feeling that particular day and gives great advise on how to get through it. And it gives you delicious recipes!***UPDATE***Wooo Hooo! Day 21 of the detox and I did it!!! It went quicker than I thought it would. Besides quitting smoking many years ago this was probably the biggest personal goal that I can think of that I actually COMPLETED!!! I am so excited about this new normal way of eating and how my body has responded. Diane, you have made this program so doable! I half attempted a different sugar detox in August and only lasted about 1 week. The way this book is set up and the delicious recipes made it so much easier and I feel like I can just keep on going. The major things that I’ve noticed since beginning the detox is 1) I don’t eat as much food. I eat until I am full and noticed that I don’t feel the need for a snack in between meals. 2) Hot flashes and night sweats, GONE! I haven’t had a one since about day 3. 3) At this point I’ve only lost about 5 lbs but that is okay, this is just the beginning! I FEEL smaller, my clothes fit better and are more comfortable. 4) My body does not ache like it used to. I feel AMAZING! 5) My energy is through the roof! I used to say that my 93 year young grandma runs circles around me but now I think she’s got some competition lol. I’m sure there are more but these are the main things I’ve noticed. I plan on keeping this going and gradually introducing new items to my yes list. I can’t wait to eat some berries tomorrow! The one suggestion that I would like to make to anyone starting the detox, do what Diane says and write the stuff down in the book. I didn’t and wish I would have. ☹My excuse was I didn’t have time (I’m sure I could have found 5 minutes).

If you are serious of cutting out the sugar this book is for you!! This is simple to follow and has information on everything you need. I would like to see a food journal from this author I bet it would be straight on!! I would buy her stuff.

Excellent results but portion sizes way too big and some stuff too time consuming, but in general am very happy!
I don't diet but was in the mood to try something new. The recipes are great. The strategy is great. My only complaints are that her "one person" portion sizes easily fed both me AND my husband. In week 1 I pre-bought all the groceries and we ended up with waaaaaaaaay too much food and had to throw stuff out, because we physically couldn't eat it all before it went bad. It was expensive and wasteful. I would also say that if you have a demanding job (we both work more than 40hr weeks), then just buy any condiment, spice, etc and focus only on making the main meals. The time commitment to make the small stuff is NOT worth it. That being said, at the end of the three weeks, we both looked and felt fantastic! For the most part, we did beat any cravings. I was very happy with our results.

Great food, enjoyable way to eat with many benefits
Here's what you want to know: 21 days - 8.5#, 4.5 inches. NEVER hungry, enjoyed 97% of recipes! There are many reasons to make the effort to improve your diet. I was motivated by the inflammation sugar causes in the body and it's link to alzheimer's disease. I first perused the accompanying cookbook book at the library and then purchased both the daily guide and the cookbook.Following the week before guide, to prepare spices etc is a good idea, particularly for people who still work. I'm retired so I just made things as I needed them. I followed the meal plan almost 100%. My husband joined me on this eating plan and ate what I ate for the most part. I feel the daily guide is geared more towards one person. You make a meal and have the remaining portion for lunch or dinner a few days later. This would definately be easier to do. Since both of us did it, in some recipes there was just too much food to make! haha So although I did use all the recommended recipes I did it out of sequence some days. We enjoyed every recipe except the "fudgesicles" and the breakfast salad. We enjoyed all the spice mixes. I think this diet would be difficult to do if you don't like eggs, garlic or onion! Perhaps there are substitutions you can make. We felt great, I lost my 3 PM munchie habit and I was NEVER hungry. In fact during the second week there was so much food sometimes we did have leftovers! I don't have any cravings for 'white foods' and believe me I enjoyed them completely prior to starting this. I do feel great, although a part of this may be attributed to simply completing the 21 days and losing weight and inches . I missed fruits like berries and look forward to reintroducing them. I'm glad I purchased the cookbook as there are some new recipes I would like to try out as we both would like to continue the eating plan. I recommend anyone to try this, except vegetarians etc as there is quite a bit of meat used.I liked the substitutions guides, the eating out guide. There are also so many recipes available online. I also felt in some ways this eating plan very similair to the Mediteranean Diet. The daily guide has questions and helpful information for every day. I felt this helped keep focus on how your body was feeling as the diet progressed, any changes you noted, etc. I enjoyed the eating plan, it didn't inhibit my social life or going out for dinner at all, it makes you m ore aware to make better choices. Give it a try!

Annoying but helpful
Ultimately I think it’s worth buying the book instead of trying the program on your own. It has been helpful to read the nutritional explanation and encouragement. But it could be improved in pretty simple ways. One, give us a section to record what we actually ate and/or are planning to eat. Maybe you could put this in place of the daily and super annoying checkbox to post to social media. Really? The top offender of body image negativity and it’s on the daily pages of a book about tuning into what your body truly needs. I have to believe that the publisher forced this on the author since her voice seems to be gentle and sound.

3 levels, choose the one that fits your life right now, and start eating!
I have been following Balanced Bites/Diane for many years online, and have learned a lot from everything she has put forth - online and in print form. The 21 Day Sugar Detox Daily Guide looks exactly like what you would expect from Diane - beautifully laid out, incredible colourful photos, an easy to follow page set-up, and detail beyond a lot of books you will find out there. I am currently on Day 2 of the 21 days, following the meal plan exactly from the book, and loving the lessons, recipes and the way the meal plan is laid out. A word of caution to anyone who will be completely changing their lifestyle with this book: please make sure you have it a couple of weeks before you plan to start, so you can read everything, and really start to understand what it is you are going to accomplish in the 21 days, and WHY she asks you to do certain things, and eat certain foods. You will need to look for ingredients you may not have on hand (and for some of us, we may have to order them online), and familiarize yourself with the recipes in order to feel most confident. I am someone with quite a bit of food knowledge already, and I felt a *little* overwhelmed trying to get everything ready in two days, because my book arrived the Friday afternoon before my Monday start, and my main store for certain ingredients was closed for inventory. If you are not following the meal plan, you would definitely have more leeway if you are just going by the yes/no foods list, and putting things together daily. I highly recommend this book, and I think everyone could be successful, especially because there are three levels to choose from, and you decide which is best for you at this time. This isn't about depriving yourself and starving - it is about fueling yourself with healthy, whole foods daily, and taking note of how everything affects YOUR body and mind, with an end result of you being able to find your own new normal for what you eat daily. I can't say enough good things about doing this program for 21 days, when you are committed to taking note of how these foods make you feel compared to sugar-laden, and often junky choices.

Well worth the money. Just do it!
I enjoyed the recipes. They are satisfying and tasty. My body felt much better after just a week on this plan. Cooking in advance for the coming days is also a really useful skill you will learn along the way and I found instrumental in avoiding bad foods and unhealthy treats. I managed to lose 5kg in just 3 weeks on the plan and I'm still going strong a few weeks after. I will definitely continue with this plan.

Full of info
This book is amazing. I followed the plan for the sugar detox and found everything clearly explained and well laid out. One of my favourite sections was the 3 week recipe schedule or what to make each day, with included page number and what to make ahead. I do wish there were fewer recipes to make and more leftovers, which would make the detox easier for me. Next time, I plan to increase the number of portions for the recipes so I cook less, which fits my current lifestyle of cooking once for 4 meals vs 2 meals.

This is an amazing book with great insights and suggestions
I am currently doing this 21 day detox program. This is an amazing book with great insights and suggestions. A lot of books i have seen talk about the mental stuff and that is important. But Diane goes farther than that and actually tells what to do every day and what to expect from every day. Gold star from me!
