Needs proof reading!
Interesting, thin book. It has some nice illustrations, but did anyone proof read it?!

The Vikings in Britain!
Well written, easy for the average reader to understand these long ago events. I didn’t know so much fascinating detail existed from Viking times. It was interesting to read about the people and battle strategies of the time. Mr. Baillie is an impressive historian who makes history entertaining. I recommend all three books -- The Great Heathen Army (about Vikings in Britain), The Pagan Lords (in France and Spain), and The Last Viking (1013-1066 AD) – to get a solid understanding. All contain lots of photos of how these locations look today, maps, illustrations, and artifacts. Now I have to check out his series about the Normans.

Avoid this!!!
This book is AWFUL. Firstly, I made the mistake of not checking the page count before ordering. Funny enough, the book has no page numbers, probably to distract from the fact that it's extremely short. I thought I was sent an empty envelope at first. This "book" is thinner than my phone! The writing itself is desperately poor. There are misspelled words throughout the entirety of this booklet, sometimes multiple ones on the same page. It's ridiculous. It also seems like the author just threw together info from random amateurish web sites and did no actually reading of his own. There are many inaccuracies. The images are very poor as well, and the whole thing looks like someone printed it from their home computer..... back in 1996. This is terrible, through and through. I asked for a refund, but the seller insisted that I pay to ship this back to him at my cost, and only to get refunded for the price of the book and not what I paid for him to ship it to me. At this point, I'd still be losing money, either way. The book is a rip off, period.

Perspective
This is a must read for those who have been enjoying the "Vikings" series on TV.Ragnar Lothbrok, Aslaug, Ivar the Boneless... the true background stories. Now I know (duh) how naming came about (Ragnadssons = Ragnar's sons; Sigurdsdotter = Sigurd's daughter).

Terrible book, save your money!
This book is terrible. I’ll agree with what all the other bad ratings write and add the only reason it’s 60 pages is the type is three times the size of a normal book. When I opened it I thought I was looking at a children’s book. At $13 it’s not worth my time to return it so it’s next stop is the garbage bin!
