Great Fun
This Trade Paperback is a lot of fun and a nice way to pick up a lot of X-Babies comics. It does not include the X-Babies mini series but you can get those pretty cheap. It also includes the super rare and Incredibly Expensive Wolverine 102.5 which was nice because I have always been curious about it but unwilling to spend $100 on an 11 page comic.A Babies vs X-Babies is probably my favorite!

Questionable for Young Kids
Well I marked it 3 only because of Skottie young's artwork else I would have marked it 1 star.I purchased this for my son. We have SUPERHERO SQUAD and 'LIL GOTHAM and I was hoping for something in that line. Something appropriate for Kids.I am a big fan of Skottie's style and as I stated I have his lil gotham series and OZ books BUT unfortunatly he doesn't do the whole book. The cover is great. The first story is great by Skottie and the last couple of pages have some more of his artwork. Nice Artwork and appropriate. The rest of the stories are laid out in a really disorienting way.The MOJO character is creepy looking with attachments to keep his eyes and mouth open. The second story has the elektra character with huge breasts and an "almost" thong. The second story has the x-babies enter near the end and they look like shrunken down adults with the muscles. The second story is all about killing wolverine. The title is called "slay-per-view"The third story is titled "murderama"The third story starts out with the bad guys pillaging from a small, meek like race of people called "the pix"pyro is outside trying to burn house down, mystiq is threatening a "pix" to open his safe to steal from him. Blobs eating all their food. Sabortooth character is upset because he didn't get to "rip one" all day. Wolverine character says "we're are gonna kick you "bleep" and "bleep" the "bleep" "bleep" you rode in on!". Further on in the story it shows a "pix" selling his soul to the devil so he can "stand out" from the other pix. After he does they drag him a away to the "spinealator" where it says "His repentant cries fade under the whirl of an off-camera bone-saw."Thats as far as I got but that will give you an idea what you will get...

How Young Can Marvel Get?
I bought this compilation just for Skottie Young's art. The A-babies VS X-babies comics were inspired by Skottie's Midtown variant for Avengers VS X-Men, the cover that gained Skottie mainstream popularity. Just a heads up though, the variant X-babies are not the same as the actual X-babies clones created by Mojo. At least, I don't think they are. Personally I look at Skottie's variant babies as another version of the characters, like a parallel world. The babies comic isn't drawn by Skottie, rather by the studio Guruhiru, and the other stories in the compilation aren't as appealing and adorable which is why I put off buying this as long as I could. But the gallery of Skottie's baby variant covers make up for the others. Bottom line is, buy this book only if you like to read about the variant A-babies and X-babies and have a collection of Skottie's delightful artwork.

I wanted to love this…
The first story in this book was fantastic, wonderful, amazing. In short, I loved it. Cyclops has stolen Cap’s Bucky Bear and he assembles the Avengers to rescue him. This story was such a delight with all the characters as baby versions of the regular ones. Though obviously toned down from the real AVX crossover, there is still a lot of sly adult humor that made me laugh aloud. Unfortunately, everything after that went downhill fast. The rest of the stories involve kid versions (though not the babies from the first story) of the heroes being manipulated by some villain called Mojo; and it was a piping hot mess. The panels are unbelievably crowded, both visually and with lots and lots of text boxes, most of which are not dialog. It’s actually a chore trying to read what is happening. As another reviewer pointed out, there’s a lot of mumbo jumbo about ratings and tv that just kinda blended together. The best thing about the book is the names for the X-Babies (Wolvie, Shower, Sugah, Cyke, etc). But that is literally the only redeeming thing. The “plots” were unclear, babbling nonsense. I ended up skimming most of the material. The books ends on a high note with an entire gallery of Skottie Young’s beautiful hero baby cover art. Overall, other than the gallery, this book was a total waste for me since I got the first story in the AVX hardcover collection anyway. Though, I will say, the amount of material is well worth the price. Too bad the same can’t be said of the quality. Sadly, not recommended. Pick up the one-shot of the first story and skip this.

This is a nice book to put in your collection if you are a skottie young fan. not only does it have a couple of collected comics inside but it also comes with various cover art that skottie young did for other marvel series

Great illustrations!
Love Skottie Youngs works! Some of the other comics in here are a little cheesey but it's an excellent compilation of the baby variant illustrations! Nice way to save money if you don't want to buy each comic just for the cover.
