Tempera Paint Sticks, 40 Colors Solid Tempera Paint for Kids, Super Quick Drying, Works Great on Paper Wood Glass Ceramic Canvas

I’m a college professor who teaches early childhood education, so I have lots of items for my students to play with and explore as children would. My students always comment on how much they like these. They look just like paint but work like crayons. They are not at all messy. Would work well for children traveling over spring/summer trips as long as they aren’t left out in a hot car.

I am a mixed media artist, I use the term lightly as I am self taught and took up painting several years ago when I retired. I came across these Tempera paints on a You Tube video and I was hooked. Sometimes I just don't feel like cleaning up the mess with acrylic paints so I thought I would give these a try. I was amazed at the saturation of color, the way they glide on and such easy clean-up. For reference both of the backgrounds on these painting were done with the Tempera Crayons. The bird and face are collage paper. I am so excited as I was able to use Posca pens and some white acrylic paint with a stencil over them. They layer beautifully, and dry quickly. I just ordered the Pastel pack. I highly recommend them.

This is the best for coloring for younger children. This product is what actually sparked the love for coloring in my children. They’ve tried regular crayons, pencils and markers, but this is the tempera paint sticks are the only one they go back to. Colors are vibrant and there’s not that much smudge either. Almost half way done with them. Will be getting more!

These have nice, dense color -- but they don't go very far as to how long they last.

Very easy to use and wide variety of colors. Paint dries down quickly and the pigment is really vivid. They also work great for anyone with a light touch. I’ve had these for a few months now and they’ve held up really well. Going to be using these for a long time.

I love these tempera sticks! They have allowed me to loosen up, because there's no sense trying to be too precise with them. I challenged myself to use them up (still working on it), which has allowed me to explore and experiment with a medium like never before. (Talk about opening doors!!)The pigment is great. I didn't like the metallics for a while, but I appreciate them now. Dry time is very quick, but you can smug or carve into it if you like. They blend well if you go back and forth between the colors.I share these with my four year old, and we both get a lot of value out of them. We've only left the caps off overnight once, and I was able to twist up and cut off the top dry layer. Good as new.I've ran out of my favorite colors. Be sure to carve out the remaining material and experiment with it. It goes a long way.I am going to invest in a few oil sticks and fixative spray as these are not artist grade, but I think I'll always have tempera sticks around now. They're a delight in the studio!
