Rice Hulls for Potting Applications - Promote Root Development, Water Efficiency, and Disease Resistance - 5 QUARTS

I needed something good to pot my long awaited sprouted avocado seed. It took 3 mos in a ziplock bag to sprout so I was quite nervous. This soil was perfect. It was JUST ENOUGH to pot it in an 8 inch pot. It’s been about a month and a half and I’m thinking I may need another two bags to switch to another pot. I’ve had no problems with any bugs, mites, or gnats. Reviews of such for different soils scared me because I’m keeping this in my apartment until it’s too big to. Definitely will buy again when it’s time to re-pot.

I’ve ordered two of the 2 L packs of phalaenopsis mix. Both are decent mixes, but the first had large chunks of vermiculite which is lovely and less moss than I’d like, the second had very tiny vermiculite and was at least half moss maybe more. Mix comes very dry and layered, but it’s easy enough to dump in a bowl, moisten and mix. I’ve used it to repot my own orchids and two rescue orchids from the local senior center. Would order again.

I started using this moss as recommended by an orchid expert along with some other products and my orchids are now in much better shape. I am getting blooms from species that I couldn't get to bloom before. This is a very clean moss and holds moisture well. It is very expensive so I'll be looking into alternatives.

My poor Jade plant had outgrown it's pot. I wanted to repot with the best soil and it seems to be working well. Also put out some pieces I trimmed in the soil and they are doing great. The 4 quart bag was sufficient with some left for future use.

I have been using this for my Thai Constellation and it’s thriving so far! I also pair this soil with Bless Your Soil’s Big Leaf Energy spray and Jack’s Classic AP Fertilizer and it’s working fantastic for me!

Good quality, smaller quantity than I needed. Works well for bonsai and succulents.

My favorite brand to use

I’ve seen some folks use this product exclusively for their succulents- I guess I’m not as trusting and still used soil- but I mixed this in and used it as a topping as well. The plants seem happy and I love the look
