Exactly as expected.
Exactly as pictured and expected. I used a Forestner drill bit to countersink the 1" hole (allows the plate to sit flush with the wood), and a router to make the slot for the screw head clearance. Worked fantastically to add hidden mounting screws to a wall-mount coat hanger rack. The mounting locations built into the rack couldn't be matched up to existing studs.
