This product has helped to lift my mood took about 3 weeks to notice a difference but it's the only product I've tried that's helped so I am very pleased with it

Prior to trying this product I have used another high street brand which was very effective. I tried this one as it was cheaper but found out why. I seriously doubt the contents of the capsules. These had no noticeable effect and they lack the saffron taste. I have swapped to Saffrosun and am back to what I expected. Cannot recommend.

This saffron supplement comes in a slim but rather large box (16½ x 11½ cm) with a white sleeve over it. Apart from some branding, the sleeve is otherwise featureless, and I can’t really see the point of it. Although both box and sleeve are recyclable, it seems wasteful having the sleeve.The box is quite attractive though, and has decent-sized writing on the back, which is a change from the often smaller writing on some other supplements.The idea of the product is to promote a sense of general wellbeing and alertness, of which the added niacin and vitamin B6 also support. To aid better absorption, the capsules are designed to delay releasing the ingredients until they reach the lower intestines.Looking at the ingredient list I see that it’s the thickeners (including sucrose) and bulking agent that make up the majority of the product, with the saffron and niacin being just about at the end. I’m wondering if the 30 mg of saffron is therefore a fairly low dose. However, it may be enough with the delayed release. I haven’t noticed much of an effect taking the supplement but it may just be me. I tend to take quite a few supplements anyway so it may work better for people not supplementing their diet as much. Saffron however has quite a few healthful properties so it’s probably worth taking it for that alone.The capsules are suitable for vegans (obviously with the saffron) but it’s good to see there are no animal derivatives in the fillers. There’s 60 capsules (two month’s supply at the recommended one per day) and are for me, easy to swallow. I don’t see any GMP certification though, but it may be because of where the manufacturer is based (Guernsey and the Netherlands).My verdict is that the product may have value but for me it’s fairly limited. I can’t say I won’t try them again, but I might look around for alternatives first.
