Took about 4 hours. These are excellent.
I live in a 133-year-old house. There are some holes. We have found most but not all of them, apparently.I used the square metal traps last year when we had some little visitors, but apparently they are only good for a single use because they were just randomly broken this year. Mice came to visit and they were just running in and out of the traps, thanking me for the Scooby snacks by pooping all over my floor.Next day my mom brought over brand new metal trap, which I set out that night. The next morning there were two in there. I drove them a few miles up the road and dropped them off in a field with some woods and an old barn, then came back, cleaned out the trap and put back out. Well, unbeknownst to me that brand new metal trap had broken after a single use just like all the rest and so I woke up to another mouse poop extravaganza in my laundry room, all around the trap (we use dog food kibble). I looked for an alternative, found these, read all the great reviews and decided to try them instead. My only complaint is that they will go off if you breathe on them, which is both handy and an inconvenience because I feel like I constantly have to check them to make sure they are open. On the other hand, they are highly effective and within 4 hours of putting one down I had caught another one.I drove it down to where I let the other ones go yesterday. I hope they find each other lol...Anyway, I will be using these from now on. Other than the hair trigger response, they are a lot easier to deal with. I was worried the mouse would go running up my arm or something when I opened the tube but he stayed at the other end and once I had it open I just set it on the ground and backed up for a second and he was gone. Then I dumped out the remaining few pieces of dog kibble that fat little beast hadn't gotten to yet. I mean, new place and all, might as well leave him at least one meal. If I didn't care I wouldn't be using a humane trap, right?Actually, I do have one other small beef but it's literally nothing - I'm not sure if it was condensation or whether that one mouse managed to pee all over the entire tube in the thirty minutes or so he was in that tube, but the whole inside was... Damp. I washed it out in the tub because it just seems too gross a job to do in a sink.

Instant catch!
I tried it all but an exterminator and I wasn’t going to blow $3k on a rogue mouse. These boxes were insanely easy to use. Caught one in a few hours. Turns out it had siblings. … caught them too …. Ordered another set of boxes of another brand and instantly regretted it. I can’t tell if the green color helps but these traps also have wayyyyy more holes making it humane. The other brand had less than ten holes in comparison. Makes a difference if you won’t be checking these often.

Easy to setup and works!
This catch and release trap was exactly what I wanted and I'm really happy it came in a 4 pack. I recently had a water leak which forced me to open up the dry wall and leave it open for an extended period of time. Not so soon after I got a furry visitor trying to move in. As someone who didn't want to use a kill trap, I went looking for a no-harm catch and release trap such as this one and am really happy with the result. After setting it up in one day - I caught my soon to be ex-roomate in one night (see photo).Pros:- Extremely easy to set up (pretty much assembled in the box)- The green color is easy to see through- Works - spring trap does not take much pressure to engage- No harm - furry visitor did not get caught in the door- Four traps provided to place around your home for better odds of catchingCons:- Not super easy (or fun) to clean- Door takes two hands to open so when releasing the mouse it felt closer than I wanted to be to a scared animal- Did not affect me, but I caught a small field mouse. Not sure if these would catch something much larger.

traps mice humanely
Pretty easy to set and the mice like them a lot with peanut butter. You have to check every day for live mice.

WORKS WITHIN 24 HOURS!
Use a little peanut butter or sunflower seeds on the latch pad, press the door down into the latch, set along where you believe the mouse is, and wait! I promise, it will work! Easiest humane trap ever!! HIGHLY recommend!

A+ Solution. Must Buy
So I purchased some of the garbage live traps from Home Depot and they didn't work. Also, I couldn't see through the container and had to pick it up every time I walked past to double check no mice were inside. I went ahead and bought the 4x pack of this and love them. Absolutely buy at least a 4x pack of these as I caught multiple mice my first night. These are: 1) Easy to look inside, 2) The food is separate from mouse making it clean to reuse if you bait with peanut butter, 3) Release is simple and easy to stay a 'wimp distance' from the exit.Highly recommend and have yet to see any type of downside.

Really good value and very effective
When we found several mounds of dirt dug up in our backyard over two days we knew the mice had moved in and I needed to go to war. I'm up to eight of these traps, nine of the rectangular metal ones (with a plastic window in the top) and two of the clear plastic ones with a green door. So far, these have been the most effective with seven mice caught in just under two months. I've caught nine in the silver traps, which are also great, but about double the price of these.Only complaints are small. Putting any bait inside is hard as the weight on the lever is sensitive and makes setting the trap either really difficult or impossible. Without bait, the traps are easy to set. They aren't the easiest to clear as the trap door always flips up and putting your hands in dirty mouse water is...problematic. Lastly, the door at the end that holds the bait is more difficult to open and close then it should be. It slides up and is a very tight fit. However they are relatively cheap, work very well and are mostly easy to use. Definitely recommend.A few tips. One, if you want to keep the mouse alive, check at least two times a day. They die..quickly in these "live" traps. Second, I've tried peanut butter wrapped in wax paper, grapes, marshmallow, processed cheese and hard old cheddar and recommend the hard old cheddar. Peanut butter works awesome in the snap traps we have in the garage, but is too messy in these, if you don't encase it, and likely doesn't "smell" enough if you do. Grapes and marshmallows were useless. Processed works but we usually don't have any and hard cheddar works very well, and slides in and out of the bait container fairly well.

Work well
Pretty good traps. Mouse seemed happy enough. Freedom him out in the forest where I'm sure he re-entered the food chain immediately. Oh well. Only complaints might be plastic thickness could eventually allow a chew through escape , the back food compartment door is a nightmare to open on a few of them and maybe the airflow isn't great inside them as these was always a substantial amount of condensation inside the tube when i freed the prisoner. I would recommend these. Also kinda rough to clean.

The best live bait traps
This is an amazing item! Cought a mouse the first night. Easy to use, easy to remove mouse and set him free! Grandchildren loved going to the field and watch him run away.

Needs MORE AIR HOLES! but SUCCESSFULLY CAPTURED MY MOUSE UNINJURED!
OK, the most important thing is that this worked very well and captured my mouse right away without injuring it, which is the most important part! (It did not cut off its tail like some of the other traps do which would be horrendous!) My only complaint is that there are not enough holes in the little trap for the mice to breathe! I was sleeping when he was captured (because he would only come out at night) and by the time I woke up, the trap was all full of condensation from him breathing and he could easily have suffocated to death. I felt terrible. So I feel you should add more holes for sure. But I do appreciate that my mouse was uninjured besides the lack of oxygen. So anyone who buys this, drill some more holes in it for air!! And/or make sure your mouse is not captured inside the trap too long or you could totally suffocate it!
