Amazing performance and quality for USB speakers
These are USB Powered, and as such are expected to be inferior to your usual active speaker with a proper power supply. I wasn't expecting much, however I chose these because of my experience with Edifier and their ability to squeeze a lot of sound out of a compact and low powered design. These did not disappoint. They have much more volume and dynamic range than I was hoping for. Obviously these won't blow anyone away when showing a friend, but if you need a USB speaker then I'm convinced that these are the ones. I've heard many USB speakers over the years and they're constantly underwhelming and disappointing. Something I usually wouldn't recommend. But my mother's office really needed better speakers and her configuration would've worked best with USB speakers if I could find good ones. After some time testing these with music, movies, and video calls I can confidently say that these are as good as USB speakers could possibly get. They sound like a more modern version of the old office speakers your dad used to have. Like beefed up HK's. They're not going to drive dynamics that impress, but they are full and clear and they get VERY loud for their form factor. Connectivity-wise they can get audio and power from the USB connection, even when plugged in to a hub or dock like we have. Alternatively there's an aux-in on the back, and a headphone port in the front. Plugging in headphones mutes the speakers and diverts audio to the headphones as you would expect. The audio quality to the headphones isn't winning any awards, but it performed surprisingly well. It's a nice little feature to have and I'm honestly surprised it could power my Steelseries headphones at all, let alone as well as it did. If you're not an audiophile or a bass-head then chances are you'll think the headphone out is superb. The wire leading from the main speaker (right) to the second speaker (left) is very long. I was worried we wouldn't have enough room, however it is more than enough. It currently clears a 6ft gap with a little slack to spare. The wire uses an RCA connector, so it can even be extended if you need to (male to female). Unfortunately it's hardwired to the main speaker so it can't be replaced. Would've been nice to see them take the extra step, but probably not necessary. The USB also goes about half the distance of the speaker wire, so it should be long enough for just about any setup. If not, USBs can also be extended. Additionally, it offers Bluetooth and an input toggle button with a tiny LED representing each input type with a different color. Blue for Bluetooth, Green for 3.5mm (aux), and Red for USB. The LED is mostly visible when looking head-on. It's difficult to see from a wide angle and it's dim enough to not be distracting or noticeable with the lights off, yet bright enough to tell which color with the lights on; making it the perfect design for an indicator light. Visually they're quite sleek. Love the look. The mesh is surprisingly glossy (never expected that). The wood appears to be real wood and the construction quality is tight and strong. They're also angled up ever so slightly which is great to see as it helps align it more with your ears (however I recommend raising them about 5-6 inches). Lastly their control is simple. The volume knob controls power, and they appear to support selective suspend so they won't drain power when your computer isn't on OR connected to a dock. This means you can leave the knob at a desired volume (even 100%, as all inputs support volume control - even BT). Look and perform great in my mother's black/silver/wood setup and I'm very proud to have found them. Great job Edifier! I would easily recommend these to anyone who just needs speakers or even someone who wants good sound but on a budget. So to recommend as a USB speaker is easy. Again, great job.

Why the Edifier R19BT is a good buy
Overall....on day one...fabulous. Bought a different (more expensive) set of speakers, struggled trying to set them up, returned them immediately and bought this Edifier set. TRUE PLUG AND PLAY. Two wires......one USB to computer and one to connect main speaker to 2nd speaker. For use in an office (like me), den, living room or outside patio, these are perfect. I usually have the volume at 25-50% max. Full volume would be a killer. And the best part...the Bluetooth pairing with my Amazon Music account is....seamless. Can control volume of Amazon Music from either speaker knob or phone if desired. Bluetooth has been consistent...no cutting out. Quality of sound is top notch...maybe an audiophile would notice the quality is lesser, but not me. For the money and ease of use, this system is a winner

Good enough for casual listening. Easy to operate.
I had originally purchased the first gen creative pebble stove the refurb was so cheap but it turned out to be faulty. This Edifier set was the next best option and I know the company is a little more relevant because of their popular bookshelf speakers. These are what you’d expect for small desktop speakers and though it doesn’t have that tiny bit of bass off the pebble it seems to so it’s job well as a casual desk setup for my mother. It’s simple enough for her to operate and she really just wanted any sound but I figured I’d spend a little more.

Sound quality and ease of use.
It's alright, but not what I expected. Sound quality isn't the best, but adequate for what I'm using it for.

Great Bluetooth Computer Speakers
These speakers are fantastic, reliable, compact and with great sound. I bought them to replace my Creative 100's because Creative kept dropping Bluetooth connect. These speaker are less expensive and so,so much better. Reliable Bluetooth connection and excellent sound. I highly recommend them as Bluetooth computer speakers. They do an excellent job. They were easy to install and deliver as promised.

Barely puts out sound…
Look nice, well crafted. Low volume, can barely hear them cranked all the way up! Edifier needs to redesign with a regular power source, not USB. Would not recommend.

I bought the Edifier R19BT because I am looking for a small speaker set for traveling. I was very concerned about the 4 watts power - but boy was I wrong! But one step at a time - I compared the Edifier R19BT, the Creative T110's, and the Steelseries Arena 3. My music style: I love all kinds of hand-made music - folk, pop, rock, modern country, easy jazz. I despise music with too much bass or bass-laden speakers - I want a natural bass as well as natural mids and highs in a beautiful sound stage. Arrived packaged well. I love the cable connection - NO WIRELESS for me. I love the wooden cabinet. I set it up via 3.5 mm cable. It is so astonishing to talk about sound stage of a 50 Euro active speaker set - but what these little speakers displayed was quite incredible. I was concerned that the 4 watts would not be enough power for me to enjoy the music - but I was so wrong. I couldn't turn the volume knob to a bit more than half - then the sound became too powerful to listen to in front of my laptop. Even sitting on my bed 5 meters away comfortable listening to the speakers in the background was possible at about 75 percent volume. The R19BT created a nice sound stage with instrument separation - absolutely incredible for that size and that price point. It can't be high end or clearly audiophile - but it sounded really nice and well rounded and listening to music was fun. Having the speakers play in the background was also fun - never stressing me or getting on my nerves or sounding irritating. The longer they played the better they sounded - so there is also some kind of burn-in period. Bass or deep bass is missing - so that claim is just not true. But they delivered a little bit of bass and listening was truly fun. Why did I return them? I found a pair of Audioengine A2's - a different league price wise and sound wise - but if you have a limited budget and want some nice sounding entry level speakers that have a wooden cabinet on top of the plastic base - consider them - they are worth every penny.
