Interesting and informative! Includes lots of practical suggestions to live a longer, happier life
This book was very interesting and enjoyable to read. The author examines the lifestyles of the people of Italy, as well as the other "blue zones" scattered around the world, and provides a detailed listing of habits and practices that they all share in common, contributing to their exceptionally long lifespans. He then goes on to offer suggestions on how we can all apply these same practices in our own lives, even if we don't happen to live in a blue zone. The book also includes some recipes for Mediterranean Diet meals that you can prepare at home. Definitely a good read!

I liked that the author dates the concept of life in Italy. Very inspiring to make some changes in one's way of thinking. The author also offers some recipes for Italian cuisine. The book is informative and educative.

Very Insightful
I love how digestible this book is. I can’t wait to use some of the ideas in my daily life. - the writing is more conversational than I thought it would be, but still enjoyed the book!

Overall health
I have always loved learning about other cultures and I found this book both informative and enjoyable. This was not just a diet book, but an overall health book. There were recipes in it and it definitely did talk about the things Italians eat and do not eat (MUCH different than the typical American diet). But what I enjoyed about this book is that it was so much more than a diet book. It talked about the Italian lifestyle. My favorite part about the Italian lifestyle was the work-life balance. I was so interested to know that a lot of people have 90-minute lunch breaks, 36-hour work weeks, and 4 weeks minimum of vacation so that there can be more of a focus on rest, comradery in the workplace, and prioritized family time. Having close social connections is so important to overall health, and that topic is commonly ignored in other health books. So I appreciated seeing it here.

Amazing guide!
After diving into this well-researched trove of information penned by a teacher and traveler, I gained insights into the longevity of Italian people and discovered practical ways to integrate these principles into my own life. The book not only inspires concrete changes in how I spend my time, approach eating, and navigate the pace of my American life but has also ignited a newfound desire to explore Italy. Unlike many health books filled with contradictory advice, this one stands out for its evidence-based approach, supported by science.

Engaging and Informative Look at Self Care the Italian Way
The title, Italian Self Care, caught my eye, as a person of Italian descent. I'd been fortunate enough to visit southern Italy recently and had been taken with the country as well as the people. What a treasure of potentially life-changing information is in this relatively compact book! Much more than I anticipated. It's interesting, easy to read, and chock full of fact-based insights into the Italian culture and why they live the way they do. This is a must-read for anyone who is sincerely searching for a self care guide that can change their life.

Live healthier and longer
This book will provide you with information on how Italians live longer than any other populace. The right eating habits go a long way. You will find interesting facts as you read this author's guide to health, the Italian way. Italians are known for wine and olive oil. Read this book and find out if this is an ingredient to live longer.

Delightful Read!
This book triggered a desire to jump in to the lifestyle as opposed to the guilt trip most diet health books leave you with. And it's not hard...you are already doing it. At least some of it and a few tweeks here and there will leave you living Italian. A fun bonus was the author conjuring up visual images of beautiful Italy and it's culture in your mind via his great writing.

Lettura piacevole
Da italiana, ero curiosa di leggere questo libro per comprendere meglio come, in certi luoghi, la longevità della vita sia influenzata dallo stile di vita e dall'alimentazione. La lettura si è rivelata molto piacevole.

Excellent and Enjoyable Read
There are many books with health advice which often contradict each other. Drink plenty of water vs drinking too much is a myth as it is bad for you; soy is wonderful for your health vs avoid soy at any cost... Those are books based on (scientific) hypothesis. Hypothesis could be found invalid, but evidence is evidence. And this book is based on evidence which is actually backed up by science after all. This book talks also about culture of people in “blue zones” (regions of longevity) which makes the book even more enjoyable. Blue zones are happy zones and just reading about it can make someone feel instantly happier. I recommend this book.
