I ordered this bathroom handle due to one of our downstairs bathroom doors always has to remain closed and you never know if it is occupied or not.This knob is very convenient as it has an indicator of whether or not the bathroom is in use or vacant .no one likes someone banging on the door while they are in the middle of their business as it makes you feel like someone is just standing right outside the door.The handle is heavy duty and good quality, but the instructions really suck and create frustration. Luckily I have installed handles before. It is not as easy as most to put together , but once you do get it on, i think it will stand the test of time and out live the door itself.

Instructions are on a sheet of paper. One side explains installation and the other is a handle and latch placement template. Template side, too, explains process to switch from right-handed to left-handed lever. Recommend copy the installation procedures before using template.Even though all parts came package appeared previously opened and resealed. Setting latch was not in it's designated box. Package is nondescript white box with company name on stick-on label.Removing the cover to add attachment handle screws took perseverance and attention to detail. There are small pins that need to line up to a channels after spinning the cover. I held the parts in cloth to not cut hands.After easy installation lever works fine though minimally feels rough (read: not fluid). With use believe fluidity will come.Inside handle thumb lock turns the outside indicator from Vacant (green) to Inuse (red). Outside handle center slotted spindle turns with indicator. Door can be unlocked turning the slotted spindle (image).Crystmetal Privacy Indicator will be liked by previous unisex rest room users who often yelled out "I am in here".

The doorknob has virtually no instructions for how to take the plate off to screw it into the wall, because for some reason the screws to put it into the door are under the base plate, which you get no instructions for how to install.

The media could not be loaded. A very simple to install lever handle. It meets ADA requirements for the Lever style. There is an additional rod within the mechanism that is attached to the door lock tab and that rod spins with the lock tab on the inside handle and changes the sign for Vacant and Occupied. I have had many customers ask me for this style of handle and now I have Lund one that does not cost and arm and a leg and has a really good solid feel to it. I have not installed it yet so I can’t say if it has a long life or not BUT my opinion is that with how heavy duty it feels I think it will last a very long time.

This hardware failed almost immediately, as far as rotating the red/green occupancy indicator. Extremely cheap, residential inner parts design. Re-installed the original door hardware, which is Falcon brand and is multiple times more sturdy and "commercial quality". Am asking for refund and return.
