An intricately hand enamel painted pair of cufflinks using genuine threepence pieces set in stainless steel blanks and finished with a high shine resin. Similar in size to our modern 5p piece they are one of the smallest coins circulated and as such boast fine detail in their design. Design varies according to date. Until 1927 there was a large '3' in the centre then replaced by three oak sprigs and acorns. 10 years later it was redesigned again this time with a shield bearing the cross of St George placed on a Tudor rose. The old silver threepence is rare with a high silver content. Please choose from the following colours and dates or let us choose the date: 1931 - 1936 (three oak sprigs and acorns) 1937 - 1941 (shield and cross) Red, Blue, Green, Black, Purple, Plain (no colour). Each pair of cufflinks takes days to make with meticulous attention to detail at every stage. We only use genuine publicly circulated coins with every effort made to use those with minimal marking rejecting any that have become too worn by the hands of time. Finished cufflinks may vary slightly from the images shown. Every pair is handled carefully to ensure you receive the highest quality product possible. Presented in a stylish box.
