I spent hours on Amazon trying to work out how to restore a WiFi signal to a solarpv inverter in my garage more than 20m from the house.The house renovation required silver-backed wall insulation in an old house and this meant the Vodafone router (upstairs, at the front of the house) could barely reach the downstairs of the house now, and could not push a WiFi signal 5m beyond the back doors, leaving a 15-20m loss of signal gap to the inverter in our wooden garage.We had taken the precaution of hardwiring LAN cabling to the back of the house and this isn’t yet live. But, I also had a good length of outdoor LAN cabling to test whether one of these units would be enough, or whether I’d need a second, or even need to run the cable to the garage.The TP-link product seemed to fit the bill, and be flexible enough that I could deploy it in lots of different ways. I was a bit worried about the idea of the app, even though I’m reasonably good with tech!The setup of the hardware for testing purposes was really easy and intuitive. I ran the LAN cable through the house to the back corner bedroom window of the house, with a clear line of sight to the garage and just placed the extender inside on the window sill - with the window closed - to see how well it worked.I downloaded the app, and recalled reading in a review that the best idea would be to setup the same name and password for the extender as the router so all the existing tech would recognise it and connect. Well - it worked straight away! It took me minutes to do.Not only did the data from the pv inverter immediately start streaming to the pv app, but the signal throughout the whole house was more stable and stronger (according to my iPhone WiFi icon)So, I don’t need to mess about burying cables or buying more extenders or bolting something to a pole. When the electrician makes the LAN sockets live I can do away with the temporary cable but equally it could have been tucked along a skirting board or under carpet had we not had the LAN cables. This signal extender doesn’t even need to go outside for our purposes, so no worries about the weather.

I was a bit concerned about this before I ordered it. I thought I would not have the strength to fit it in place. Fortunately, a friend came to the rescue and fitted it for me. The quality is excellent and it looks great with my new lightweight curtains.

I liked how easy it was to use . I used it to put up my net curtains ,I have now used these on all of my windows . The tension pole is lightweight to handle but holds the nets strongly in place . Very good quality and adjustability

Does do the job, but I expected spring tension to be the same as our old one - you adjust to just oversize by twisting the rod then push in to fit and the spring tension to hold it in place, but no.You adjust to just undersize and then continue the adjust by twisting the rod - quite awkward and not spring tensioned the same as the one we got from Wilko's years ago.Bit of a bind for us as it's fiddly and we change the nets weekly.There are some pitting to the gloss finish, but it's not seen when threaded through the net.So - yes it does the job, but I won't be placing another order for the rest of our nets.

The rod suited my needs perfectly, it was used to hold up my door curtain.
