I can’t believe how high quality these are for the price. Super smooth and sharp, they last a very long time, no rust. A very nice weight. I bought a second pair as a back up. Love them!

Really strong and consistent shears.

So the first thing I have to say is this… the scissors come slightly oiled. They have to be because they are carbon steel. To ship them without the oil would be a huge mistake. That said, I am a hairstylist and I bought these for my wife who is a sewer. As a gift! In my professional hair stylist opinion, these sewing scissors are extremely nice and sharp. They are super balanced and glide quite nice when actuating them. I bought the 9” set as I thought the 8” would’ve limited my wife a bit when making long cuts. The packaging is nice. The smaller snip/string cutters are a very nice addition to the scissors. They WILL DEFINITELY do the job. Don’t get your finger’s in the way. They are super sharp and move together very nicely.All in all this is a nice set and my wife loves them. And THAT is all that matters.

The scissors are smooth to cut fabrics and very sharp out the box. The weight is fairly light and easy to hold. I deducted one star because of discomfort in thumb using it for long periods of time.

As a long time home sewer and crafter, a really good pair of sharp, smooth cutting scissors is an essential tool. I used to get very upset with other family members, in the past, who would 'borrow' my best shears for other types of cutting needs. The scissors would magically reappear in my sewing room dulled and sometimes with nicked blades. GRRRR! I'm elderly now and living solo...so who is it, now, that 'borrows' and dulls and nicks them, huh? Gremlins, no doubt. It was high time to start over with a good quality pair of scissors and this choice proved to be a really good one!They're comfortable in my arthritic hands, smooth and easy while cutting and...did I say SHARP! I made an initial cut into a vinyl upholstery fabric and just pushed the partially open blades the whole length of the needed cut. They glided the whole way like slicing through butter. The protective sleeve is a nice bonus when storing them after use. Maybe it will discourage those gremlins, too.

I got these scissors because they looked sturdy, not like those you buy with a plastic handle that breaks if you try to cut something not suited for them. These scissors I used this past weekend, June 1st. While the wife was away I had some carpeting I wanted to install in the garage. Yeah, I could have cut it with a knife and I did attempt to do that with a super sharp knife but I decided to try cutting it with these scissors and wow, they cut through the carpeting like going through hot butter, no problem for these scissors. Glad I bought them.
