Review update replacement received. ( previous review)Dark videos being recorded in bright day light
Hi, I am updating my review/feedback for this product. I was sure that there was a technical glitch with the product and after raising it here, got response from the seller/ company for more details. Once they are convinced they provided a replacement recently. It only shows the ethics and commitment towards customers satisfaction. I really appreciate this gesture and after sales support. It means a lot. Thanks DDPAI!(Previous review)I opted for this model thinking it has good low light and night vision recording capabilities.Unfortunately I am getting dark videos in bright day lights.Something is not correct with the product which I received or overall it doesn't have the capabilities which are being claimed by the manufacturer. I believe seller would look into this and offer a replacement. There must be something not proper in this particular cam.Thanks.

Great Camera For Your Car
It is a great little camera. Good picture quality. When you watch it on your cell phone, it looks pretty good. The picture quality is even better when you download the video to a computer or tablet. I chose this camera because it supposedly holds up well in the Phoenix summer. So far it has done very well in our record-breaking heat.

Overall good unit
Good picture and sound. Wifi connects to my laptop to download with car in carport and laptop (or phone) about 7 metres away in living room as long as power to camera stays on.

Concerns About Privacy Policy
We were really excited to receive this DDPai dash camera. We have been looking for a simple to use camera that is easy to download content from. Naturally, we assumed that the camera would be plug and play. In reality, it probably is, provided you agree to the terms of the privacy policy. Rather than blindly agree and sign our lives away, a review of the details reveals that there is not one singular recipient of the information that is gathered. Simple understandable data such as " phone ID, driving recorder ID and usage time." are fine. How better to refine the product. Reading further on however, more services are revealed who get the info. From the policy, "DDPAI uses the mobtech sharesdk service of a third party (Shanghai Youkun Information Technology Co., Ltd., hereinafter referred to as "mobtech"). In order to successfully implement this function, you need to authorize mobtechsdk to provide corresponding services; After you authorize, mobtech will collect your relevant personal information." Mobtech has a separate privacy policy that you need to research and is a part of this privacy policy. There are several other services that also collect your info. "In order to realize the transaction payment function of the app, the app uses "Alipay library and beecloud library". This service will collect your device information, network information and location related information." Another, "In order to facilitate the use of statistical function and abnormal crash reporting function of the "staring at shooting" app, "Youmeng + SDK" is used. This service will collect your needs, collect your device MAC address and unique device identification code to provide statistical analysis service, and calibrate the accuracy of report data through geographical location, so as to provide basic anti cheating ability;"We have no problem improving a product that anonymously reports back to the manufacturer, but details about location, device and network should not be (in our opinion) relevant. We do not agree with the policy and clicked the tab that pronounced such. The app will not load otherwise, so "No soup for you!"We did plug the device into a USB C power supply and it powered up immediately with a cheeky announcement "Hello Ding Ding Pie!" The blue LED glowed while powered and pressing the button opposite from the USB port cycled it between recording and not. The unit was picked up abruptly, and it quickly signaled with a tone and the LED changed to a flashing purple. The movement signaled that there may have been a crash and it took some pics. When plugged into the USB port on the laptop, there were in fact images and video. Disturbingly, there were two videos of someone other than us testing the device (like we were). Apparently, this camera was not factory fresh, but maybe a returned item. The box it came in did look like there may have been some less than stellar repackaging going on, so maybe customer service let this one slip past. Regardless, we did not view someone's personal data or worse, just a quick view of the previous user and a long 2 minute view his office. After seeing that the device recorded without the phone app, we tested it ourselves. Hand held images were a little blurry and stop-motion-y, but once the device was held steady, the images were clear. We intend to mount the camera and go ahead and record, then download the videos and images as is possible. Maybe we can enjoy the benefits of recording without Big Brother watching us. The phone app allows you to view on the go, not something we would be doing anyhow.
