Korean Tteokbokki Pink Rocket Original Spicy Rice Cake, Pack of 2 (4 Servings), Korean Street Foods, Rice Cake (Original)

Got the combo pack with the Original Spicy flavor and the Carbonara Flavor. Could not be easier to make. My family loved the creamy Carbonara flavor!!! The chewy stretchy texture of the tteokbokki matches well with the luscious Carbonara sauce but we are not fans of the Original Spicy red sauce. We even mixed a little of the red sauce with the carbonara to make the rose tteokbokki as suggested but the sourness of the red sauce just threw the flavor of the carbonara sauce off. We'll be getting the Carbonara one again though. More flavor variety would be better. If they make more flavors in the future like jjajang, shrimp and spring onion, garlic butter, sweet and mildly spicy, coconut curry, wonton soup flavor sauce, honey butter or something else, we'll probably try those too. The original flavor of Mi Goreng would also make an excellent tteokbokki flavor.

I was searching for some new tteokbokki kit options and this brand came very highly recommended. Delivery was quick and the product quality was great (everything packaged well for freshness). There were some mixed reviews on the spice level. I don't have a very high spice tolerance and as soon as I smelled the seasoning packet (two were provided) I knew these were going to be out of my spice range. I only used 1 of the powder seasoning packets and added some brown sugar and soy sauce to cut the spice and make it a little sweeter. This ended up working perfectly and brought down the spice level to something I could tolerate. I've had other tteokbokki kits where the sauce didn't lend itself well to adjustments, but I'm happy to say this one did so I'll be able to enjoy it. The rice cakes cooked well in 3 -5 minutes and were so soft and chewy - perfect texture! I will definitely be purchasing these again.

But flavor can use some improvement.

This is probably the best Tteokbokki I've tried so far, including from restaurants... It was super easy to make in under 5 minutes, SUPER flavorful with nice soft rice cakes, the sauce thickens up which is nice ( I've tried other brands where the sauce is more runny and soup like ), the spice level is VERY high and I love it, for those sensitive to spice I'd suggest maybe not getting or throwing some cheese in to try and tame the spice level, but over all I give it an easy 5 stars as love everything about these.

This is the worst tteokbokki I ever had. I rue the day this product becomes someone's first experience with the normally delicious food. It smells and tastes like plastic even after cooking and is weirdly sweet,, like too sugar sweet. It's my biggest regret in a while. Don't get this, PLEASE.
