I was disappointed with so many basic light sets, as many included what (to me) were non-Christmas-y colors like pink and purple. In particular, I was looking for a good solid dark red. These lights deliver well on the assortment of colors, for me, and they have a handy remote and a (somewhat limited) timer function (on/off for a 6-hour timer option). One note: there was no manual included so I had to look at the Amazon listing, to find out how the time option works - you may want to make a note of it. (Photo included, but note that the colors appear lighter than they actually are - the reds and blues are actually quite dark-hued, compared to the photo)

I have a set of these outside on our baby live spruce and even in freezing cold, rain, and snow. They're working! Big, fatty, colorful bulbs with 8 settings. My only small complaint is the range of the remote is very short. I have to stand right next to the lights to get it working. But the lights are great and the battery life seems reasonable, if not better than expected. I've been using rechargeable batteries to help with the cost/waste and I'd recommend that.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve had these lights for a week now. I wanted something that my cat wouldn’t destroy. The bulbs are big enough that she won’t chew on them and the wire I was able to wrap with cord protector. The battery life seems pretty long. I have not had to change the batteries yet and I’ve had the tree lit for several hours each night since purchasing this item one week ago. So 24+ hours of battery life I’d say.

We ordered 2 packs of these battery operated lights and we put them up and after the first night we were sold on them! First off, they were nicely packaged in the box. We don't have to worry about the bulbs breaking anyway because they are a nice plastic and the spacing of the bulbs is nice and not far apart. The battery pack/controller is really easy to use and access. We like that these lights don't have to be plugged in and because of the timer feature, we don't have to worry about turning them on and off ourselves. They are nice and bright too. We liked the 2 sets we used for outdoors so much that we bought another set to use on our stairway railing and they are great there too and our kiddo loves to change the settings from chasing/flash to slow glow etc. There are plenty to choose from and we're very happy with our purchase.

The media could not be loaded. When I first got them I was very happy. They light up pretty bright for battery powered. However the batteries only lasted 6 days before they were very dim and one strand completely went out. Once I replaced the batteries they lit right back up.Also I ordered 2 strands and one came with the wrong colored bulb covers over the lights. Example an orange cover over a blue bulb. It made the lights not so bright. For reference it was the strand on the bottom. It also had way more orange covers that were covering the wrong bulbs. I planned to return the one set because of the bulb cover issue and keep the other. However, I plan to return both and try another brand that uses 3 C batteries which will hopefully have the lights last longer. If they lasted longer I would keep them.Overall I give 3.5 stars because of the battery usage and the problem I received with the covers. If it was only the battery issue I'd give 4 stars. That's just way too many batteries for a holiday season using the 6 hour timer.
