The best you can buy
Update 3/9/2025-Still the best, but it just keeps getting smaller and smaller and the price has gotten higher.2017-The Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder is the best there is. Out of the multitude of contouring products on the market and out of all the contouring products I have bought and tried, none of them have held a candle to this product. Where all others have failed in either pigmentation, longevity, color and undertone, blendability, and texture, this powder succeeds in every category. This powder is a finely milled, highly pigmented powder that is the closest I've ever found to creating a natural shadow in the contours of the face. The ashy undertone mimics that of a natural shadow and provides the illusion of depth that I have not been able to achieve with any other product be it high end or drugstore. Not KVD, Anastasia, Lorac, Benefit, Morphe, NYX...and the list goes on and on.This powder is incredibly pigmented and soft and blends without struggle. As with all contour, use a light hand and build up slowly to prevent muddiness as you blend.I use this contour in the hollows of my cheekbones, my jawline, under my chin, around the curves of my chin, under my bottom lip, the bottom of my nostrils up to the bottom of the tip of my nose, one either side of my nose and up and connected to the beginning of my brow bone on either side which then gets blended outward through the crease of my eyes, my temples and blended up and around the top of my forehead. I also use this contour in the hollows of either side of my neck, in the hollows of my collarbone, the divit between and underneath the collar bone. The collar bone contouring depends on my clothing and whether or not my collar bone is going to be exposed. This contour will suit you whether you prefer exaggerated contouring or soft contouring. For every day I prefer soft contouring so I go over and blend out all the contour with a clean large powder brush and just blend lightly in circular motions everywhere I have applied the contour. For more dramatic looks for an evening out I will only blend my contour as I'm applying. This product is not cheap but it's worth every penny. This is the second time I have purchased and I've been using this contour for 4 years. I still have product in the pan from my original purchase but it is so tightly condensed to the sides of the pan that my brushes have a hard time picking up pigment. Granted, my first purchase of this powder was the original larger packaging that came with 6g's and not 4g's. Though I am disappointed that the amount of product for the price has gone down by 2g's, this is not a deterrent. It might not last quite as long as my first one has but overall that may be a benefit considering 4 years is a very long time to use the same product. I'm likely going to break up the remaining powder in my old one and transfer it to a container. The new packaging is gorgeous and is a lot more compact which is an added benefit. The old packaging was quite bulky and initially came with a small brush that was never used and was completely unnecessary which I'm sure is why they removed it all together.Kevyn Aucoins products are some of the highest quality products available. Though their price may reflect this it's well worth the investment. I highly recommend this contour. It's the only contour product I will ever need.

last time I bought this was in 2017
I had been extremely into makeup in my teenage years and after delving more than a hundred hours of videos, essays, research, I was going crazy looking for a contour that actually worked like a contour should. Everything was too yellow, too red, too patchy, unnatural, etc etc. I found a few YouTube videos about this specific issue which led me here, and I as a young, jobless teen, splurged on this product. Let me tell you I have never looked back. Not to be dramatic, but I've spent so much money looking for a dupe that could even come CLOSE to this quality, but all that was money down the drain. For how expensive the product was for such a tiny amount, I had spent many times more for cheaper and worse alternatives. Now in 2023, there still hasn't been a real competitor. The makeup brands are only now figuring out what a contour product is... I've long since streamlined my daily 2 hour makeup routine into a 5 minute routine, and this contour powder is still what I reach for every time. I hit pan which I almost never do for any product, and even then that still left 60% of it left. Now I'm at 20%, but that was from the product breaking off because I made a huge gap in it. If I had used it evenly instead of digging in one spot, this would have easily lasted me another 5 years. And maybe then the makeup community could develop something remotely close to this.

High Quality
I have been searching for something like this for years! It contours my face and doesn’t make me look orange afterwards my bronzers will. This has a grey undertone so if you have a warm undertone, this stuff is amazing. Highly pigmented so it is going to last a long time. It’s a small package but considering the small amount I use, it will last a couple years. The best sculpting powder I have ever found and I have been searching for something like this for years!

Kevyn Aucoin's sculpting powder changed my LIFE (sort of)
Kevyn Aucoin (RIP) is the "King of Contour". It's a real shame that he passed so early because I think his creations could've really changed the game in modern times. This product does not disappoint. Sure, the pricepoint seems a bit high for the little amount of product, but there is none other on the market that even comes close to the formulation of his sculpting powder. It's the perfect cool gray taupe-y shade and is SO SO pigmented. You need nearly nothing and the color is incredible. I would compare it in shade to the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette's shade "Sombre", which is the bottom left pan, except Kevyn Aucoin's is so much more pigmented.Let's talk about the packaging too, because that makes a difference to makeup freaks like me. It comes in a gold square box, once opened, there is a velvet black pouch inside with Kevyn Aucoin stamped into it. Then, there's this beautiful little black compact. To open the compact, you simply press the gold bar at the bottom (standard with all of his products).I really can't say enough about how wonderful this sculpting powder is. Everything KA creates is magic, but this truly takes the cake. You will not regret your purchase! Yes, it is a splurge, but you won't find anything like it for cheaper.

Beautiful shade for contour
Love, love, love this! The tone on this stays cool/ neutral which is hard for me to find. I have very fair skin with a lot of red undertones. A lot of times contour will look orange-y on me. This does not! It’s easy to use, the color stays true and it lasts all day. One word of caution- it is very powdery- it doesn’t have fall out when applying but there’s lots of fall out in the compact. I just make sure to use the powder fallout as part of my application. One other mention- the price. I was surprised at how small the compact was. However, a little goes a long way, so it will last a while. I will likely repurchase this product but don’t expect to need to until the beginning of next year.

This is an awesome sculpting powder. Don't be thrown by the color it blends in to various skin tones beautifully.
