The steel pegs are not fit for use
I purchased this product to protect my fiamma awning in windy conditions, first time used the straps are fair enough but the buckle system is a mild steel ring with no weld hence soon fell off, the main thing is the angle pegs have a welded hook, on the 3rd strike of the hammer the hook fell off and the next time I used the strap the other pegs hook fell off.So if you want this product buy from the camp shop 2 iron re bar pegs. or you have no protection.

Hope I never get to find out!
It's a storm strap. So I'm hoping I never get to really test it. But looks good feel and seem to be made well

Wind out awning, struts
Really handy for keeping your winding awning down when the wind gets up, stop it blowing off your motorhome , caravans, or camper vans

Overall, pretty poor
I bought this to provide some extra security on a motorhome sun awning. The awning seems so flimsy I daren't leave it out in anything beyond a gentle summer breeze. I have used this strap once so far, and it certainly worked, but I am not very impressed with it.Firstly, the ground spikes. They are made from fairly soft flat sheet metal bent in to shape, and the hooks on them consist of a bit of vaguely-S-shaped metal threaded through a hole in the spike and held in place with a really pathetically tiny little spot weld which doesn't look much bigger than a solder joint on a circuit board. If the ground is at all firm, you have to use a metal hammer to get the spike in, because a wooden mallet (or rubber) just gets cut to pieces on the sharp metal, and when I had to resort to a hammer to get them in, the top of the spike deformed very easily. This means that probably by the 2nd or 3rd time I use these, the spike will have deformed to the point where the hammer starts to hit the top of the hook which pokes up towards the top of the spike (it is really difficult to describe this but look at the pictures closely and hopefully you will see what I am babbling about). A couple of contacts on the top of the hook from the hammer and I am sure the miniscule weld will break, and that will be that.Secondly, the strap doesn't work terribly well either. The double metal loop where you thread the loose end through and back on itself to tighten the strap up just doesn't grip very well, the metal loops are the wrong shape. They should be square, not rounded. The only solution is to pull it tight and then tie a knot to stop the strap slipping back through. When you tie a knot in this kind of flat strap, it is a real pain to get it undone again.Thirdly, the spring. One end is really not bent over properly to make a hook, it is bent barely enough to hold when under tension, but when you are setting up and there is no tension, it just unhooks all the time. It is so fiddly that you really need two people to get it in place. It is too tough for me to bend any further. I am also extremely cynical about how necessary the spring really is, because it is pretty strong, and frankly, if the wind was gusting strongly enough to make this spring expand and provide a little give in the strap, I think the 3.5 ton motorhome would have long since blown away. I think it's purely cosmetic. So overall, it worked, but I don't think it is going to last long, and I could have got exactly the same effect from an old bungee, a bit of old rope and a couple of sturdy tent pegs.

Item all as expected
Looks robust and should do the job. Only one buckle as it goes up one side, right along the awning then down the other side

May have to remove, can't sleep due to flapping on awning
This was fitted only last week, found the wind to be getting underneath the strap, this was causing it to bang on the awning, really annoying. The strap was really tight also.

second hand part
bought this to hold down my caravan cover , advertised as new, when I got it you could see the black webbing has been used before by the marks on it, also there was patches of white mould in places , thought it was cheap , dontknow why they did not say it was second hand in the first place, could have got a dodgy one at the market.Think twice about shopping with them again. Not worth the hassle of sending it back.
