While telescope is fine and the lanyard screw fine, the mini tripod doesn't fit in telescope and make it useless if you want to use with phone...

This was a very good purchase! I bought this originally to have my phone camera zoom boosted optically, however it won't cover all the sensor capture area, as it casts black edged with some distortion near these.After trying and trying to set it up with millimetric precision, I feel this monocular is best useful as a regular tele lens, just out an eye on it and spot the moon craters or birds, etc.It has potential.

it's compact but gets a great view, easy to focus, the only little caveat is getting your eyes to view

All you can see on the phone screen is a small circle. And it’s not magnifying the way you’d expect. Objects seem closer but not 40 times.
