Having put up with inadequate kitchen scale for years, it is a pleasure to work with these. They appear substantial and well built, but what I really like about them is that the readout is still visible even when weighing a large item that overhangs the weighing platform (this is a problem that for my purposes makes many scales useless, place a large item in them and it covers the readout). Even better is that the front section is detachable, which would make it even easier, although I haven't needed to this yet - and I haven't worked out how to do it either.I also like the fact that they can be mains operated if you choose, no worrying about dead batteries.If I have one complaint, it's the ten second or so wait when switching the scales on as they count down to a zero setting ready for use, and as they auto switch off relatively quickly this can become frustrating when weighing a lot of items with a time gap between each. But that's all I can fault them on.
