Our cat was not drinking enough water. The water fountain became a sound machine instead of a hydration station. Then we tried the Porens brand filters and pre-filter sponges, and our finicky feline flocked to the fountain. If our cat could talk he would probably tell us the water tastes great, smells great, and has less hair and other particles because we are using such great filters. Since replacing the filter and sponge are so easy and the price is great, you won’t mind devoting your time to this altruistic task every 2-4 weeks depending on the quantity of water consumed daily by your precious pets.

I needed these to replace the filters in my automatic cat water fountain. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars was due to the size of the black filters that go into the end of the water pump; they do not fit like the original ones sis. I always find the black filters floating in the water. it dos not serve any purpose when they are plating in the fountain

They are very easy to install, and as long as you are keeping the fountain clean when you swap them out the water stays fresh.
