Once I modified the Amazon-suggested spring expansion tool so it would actually fit the spring, actual installation took <30 seconds. You will definitely need a spring expansion tool because trying to install this spring clamp will be a difficult, if not impossible task because you will keep pulling the door gasket off the edge of the opening that the gasket sits on. Our washer is 8 years old and sees heavy use. I looked up the parts list online, found the Samsung OEM part number, and this one is an exact replacement for the Samsung part.

Our Samsung washer gets constant use (I blame the grandkids) and we found water on the floor (I blamed the dog.) Nope, the boot spring had failed by the spring where one eye broke off.Got this, installed it without difficulty, and apologized to the dog. Amazon had it here in a day so our dirty laundry didn't pile up. Good option (pricewise, a much better one, actually) than OEM.

Most importantly, the product fit onto my washer and held the seal.The product appears to be made of a good strong metal, and the spring is stiff. In contrast, my 13+ year old washer clamp can be removed almost without any tools. I feel much more confident in my new washer boot with this clamp in place.It is always a good idea to replace the clamp with a new boot and this product is a good value for the money. I recommend getting this product to repair your washer.
