Works as advertised
Camera works without wifi after ordering a data plan. Great customer service for troubleshooting. Easy set up. Great buy for the money. Solar battery. Works as promised.

Garbage after paying a subscription fee.
Got the camera and just like someone else mentioned it stopped working after I paid the fees. Then within a week it stoped holding a charge, and now it won’t power on even after plugging it in to a wall socket. The SIM card also does not stay inserted all the way and that caused a whole different set of irritations.Don’t waste your money on this as it will fail (did multiple returns to see if the next one would be better…it never was, luckily I only wasted paying the subscription fee once and even then I’m still pissed off about it).

Good camera but beware of subscription
I've bought 4 of these. First one malfunctioned on me and I was able to return it with ease. Others are doing great. I do have one huge negative, probably not the company's fault, but beware of the subscription company the app Ubox uses. I don't see how you could get around it after the 30 day free trial. Their email doesn't work and I'm in the process of trying to get a subscription refund for the broken device or transfer it to another camera. Not having any luck.

Review update
So the camera has been in operation for couple of weeks now... my observations so far.* camera works great. Both the SD and HD resolutions are excellent.* Make sure the camera is installed in a location away from tree or plants, as movement of those might trigger unnecessary recording. There are some branches right next to the camera which is in the line of view so I am going to trim it and see if the motion response recording become less frequent.* you do have to pay for the cellular service and the cloud storage. There are different bundles for this service and will $60~$150/year (approx)* When viewing through the recordings, I wish the app will highlight the clip I am viewing. Curreently it is a bit difficult to see which recording that is playing other than by matching the time on the recording being viewed against the recorded time on the list of saved recording.All in all, this is a valuable tool for monitoring whatever you need to monitor.-----------------------------------------I will update the review once I install at the apartment building for which I purchased this unit. This review is for the initial set up and testing.The package is excellent and the manual is very good. The overall quality of the product is very good. I first charged the unit and then followed the instruction to install the simm card, download the app, and added the device to the app and within a few minutes I am seeing the video and able to control the up and down and sideways motion. Pretty amazing the current state of technology where this kind of thing is possible.... The picture quality seems very good. I haven't started the cloud service - I am assuming this is the service I will need to store the video recording... Will submit review update later.

Needs improvement
I had high hopes but…..Camera had decent pic quality, but battery ran down quickly, no matter if it was sunny or not, even on the low setting for activity detection it ran the battery down in less than 3 days! It barely charges the battery on a sunny day and overnight you lost that gain and plus more, if it was cloudy during the days l was lucky for the battery to last 2 days! It’s too big of a nuisance to take down and charge with the electric cord every 2 or 3 days. And this was the second camera I had set up, as the first camera didn’t have a SD card with it and when I complained to Amazon support about the missing SD card they sent a whole new camera to replace the camera missing the SD card and the battery usage was about the same so it wasn’t a defective single camera.

A Great Addition to my Portable Security
I bought this to take with me on trips, to set up in my hotel room, so I will know if someone enters the room without my permission, and while ignoring the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door knob. It was EASY to set up, and the video quality is awesome! Now I have to figure out how to set up the billing account for the 4G DATA. I don't have a CLUE who is carrying it now!

Hidden costs and poor customer service
You pay the initial costs and then you have to pay for data after a few days. Over $200 for each camera and if your data runs out you cannot use them. Also I paid for 3 to recharge ($788) and they only added data to 2 of the cameras. I called customer service and they are good about talking to you but will not fix the problem. I asked to talk to a supervisor or number for someone above her and she said there is no supervisor and tech told her to send me the recharge link, but that requires me to pay another $229. Also the tech department and higher management do not have a phone number to call them. Please do not order anything from them
