Must read!
I’m so glad I found this author and this series. I read the first on Kindle, but I love the experience of a paperback, so I bought this second one in paperback and I’ll start the third book soon. This book was so enjoyable. I’m sincerely so happy I found this series.

Just a plot line, not a complete book.
I've now read two books in the series and won't be buying or reading any others. It isn't that the story isn't good, the plot line is fine. It's just that, for the money, the book isn't worth it.I read a significant number of mysteries, and these books are 30 minute reads, at best. There is no character development. More, there is no development of anything. I still don't know what the deli looks like, how it runs, what she sells, or any quirky customers. I don't know anything about the town Moira Darling lives in, how big it is, what draws people to the town, and why she chose it. In this book, the victim was someone Moira Darling had known for 20 years and all I know is that she wasn't well and she babysat for Moira's daughter. How did they originally meet? Why was she chosen as a babysitter? What about the large, historical house she lived in? Finally, the ending was abrupt, in fact, the book just seemed to stop.I think these stories have potential, but I'm used to books by Julie Hyzy, Avery Aames, Ellery Adams, Leslie Budewitz, Sheila Connolly, Krista Davis, and others who fully develop a story, the characters, and the context. If you like this kind of story, I'd encourage you to try one of these other authors to see what a complete book reads like.

Loved spending time with two of my new favorite sleuths
Moira was becoming quite the sleuth and determined to find who killed her good friend who wouldn't have harmed a flea and had no apparent enemies. She joined forces again with David to get to the bottom of things and ended up in a nail biting showdown with the killer.I did figure out who the killer was this time, but there were some good distractions. I tried not to let them sway me this time and was happy to find out I was right about the perp. I just love Moira and David working together. He's very sweet, caring and super patient with her!

Fun, quick read
I really enjoyed this book, and couldn't put it down. However, I do not understand why Moira did not call the police after receiving the phone call. She seemed to be an intelligent woman, but there was no thought put into that one. Having said that, I would recommend, and I would like to read more.

I liked book one and I liked book two even more
Moira’s deli continues to gain popularity. She has even found it necessary to hire a new employee. In the midst of her happiness a tragedy strikes. Her dear friend is found after what appears to be an accident in her home. When it is discovered that Emilia’s death was suspicious in nature Moira begins to worry she may have placed her trust in a killer. This book was even more enjoyable than book 1. I was a bit disappointed that Dante's storyline was left dangling. I hope to learn more about him in the next book. The characters continue to develop nicely. The action in the book moves along nicely.

fun cozy mystery reads
I am loving this new series! Corned Beef Murder is the second in the Darling Deli Series. They are quick, fun cozy mystery reads. The characters are likeable, fun, and down to earth, Moira is the main character along with daughter, Candace, and the rest of her staff at the Deli. Throw in a little romance with a handsome detective, an unexplained death of a friend, and the intrigue to figure out who done ii! Well worth the time to read and I am awaiting the next in the series. Thank you Patti Benning for keeping my entertained.

Benning is a talented writer unlike many of these small books. They are far too short for my tastes and they are VERY predictable from the outset. This particular book left a question in the air regarding the PI's encounter with yet another suspicious deli employee, but other that that it was a very enjoyable if VERY short book
