Pulls too much current
I have a Sony XAV-AX1000 radio and its max current output on the USB port is 1.5A which is pretty much standard across USB 3.0 ports. This device is either shorted internally or draws too much power from the port. When I installed it after about 20 seconds my radio turned itself off and then powered itself back on and all settings were reset to default (as if the battery was disconnected). I removed the device and it was quite warm to the touch. I plugged in my old wireless carplay dongle and the radio stayed powered on. To confirm its a defective Autosky dongle I reinstalled it into the port and after a few seconds my radio powered itself back off and then back on. The only reason why I bought this Autosky one is because of the size. The one this one was going to replace works perfectly but its bulky and gets in the way of the volume knob. Personally I would not recommend this brand due to the issues I encountered. Others have mentioned in their reviews their units get hot too.

AutoSky Wireless Adapter works on a 2023 Harley Davidson RGL
I would have given this 5 stars but I had trouble getting it to connect to my motorcycle. I got it to work but the instructions were not straight forward. Here are a few things that may help someone else.Your iPhone must connect to the autosky adapter via a Wi-Fi connection. I followed the instructions multiple times and got frustrated with the server stopped responding error message enough to contact the Mfg. but before they could contact me, I got it to work.I decided to connect my adapter to my computer to ensure constant power is available to the adapter. Connect to the server by connecting your iPhone to the adapter via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Connection to both must be done before you can connect to the AutoSky server. Once I did this, the adapter page came right up. Scroll down to the Upgrade menu and if there is an update for your adapter, select it to start the download. Once successfully completed, unplug your adapter and plug it back it. If you want to, you can recheck the server page but I don't think it was really necessary.Once my adapter was updated, I went back to the garage and plugged it into my motorcycle. Don't forget that you must connect to the adapter via it's Wi-Fi connection. This time, you only need to make that Wi-Fi connection. The Carplay screen came up within seconds. The rest is history they say. Carplay was working flawlessly. I turned my bike off and waited a minute or two and turned it back on. Carplay came up within seconds. In short, once you get your adapter updated, only if needed, connect your iPhone to the adapter via the WI-Fi connection, you should be able to see the carplay screen at this point. One last thing. In case other HD motorcyclists aren't aware of this, the Carplay plug in adapter/connector must be connected to the WHIM connector under your front fairing. This plus the AutoSky wireless adapter works to get Carplay on our 2019 and up bike.Good luck guys. This thing rocks.

Connection
I love this product! It eliminates all extra cords in my car and makes it where everything connects wirelessly. Only issue I do have is rarely it won’t connect and I may have to forget the device and reconnect.

Worked great for a while. Can't reliably connect any more.
After installing the latest update by plugging it into a computer and accessing the unit over wifi, it connected to my 2018 Outback about 95% of the time. Very happy with the performance (there is a slight lag in controls having an effect, but that's the price of the wireless workaround). The last month, I can barely get it to connect maybe one time out of 6 or 7. I've factory reset it, tweaked the connection delay, tried other connection settings seen on troubleshooting sites and nothing. I gave up and reconnected directly to car via bluetooth so I could at least listen to podcasts. (my wired connection doesn't work... bad lightning port)Today I decided to really try to fix it. I disconnected the phone from the home wifi, disconnected my Apple Watch so there's zero other Bluetooth connections (wifi was on and watch was always connected back in the "good times" and didn't seem to matter) and sat out in the car, turning it on and off. I still can't get it to reliably connect. I tried the most recent software update on the setting page and no difference. At the end of the troubleshooting guide, they said to contact them for help. I went to the Amazon page to get product support and my support window had passed less than five days ago. So ... do your trouble shooting asap, I suppose.
