Orphan Black Complete Series (Blu-ray)

First off kudos have to go to the genius of casting Tatiana Maslany. It’s amazing how she was able to craft such uniquely diverse characters. And it’s especially telling when she has to play one character that’s imitating another one of the characters. And when multiples occupy the same room… VFX makes that possible, but it doesn’t take away from the amazing work of Maslany’s acting double, Kathryn Alexandre.Each of the clones (oops, spoiler alert) has flaws and quirks that make them unique and one of a kind. And luckily the writers made a valiant effort at avoiding the “mustache twirling” villains. I binge watched the entire series twice within a year, and will again before the year’s out.Looking back I think my favorite clones were Sarah and Cosima, but the neurotic Allison and the “nutter-butter” Helena ensured that stories stayed interesting and relevant. And Rachel’s journey from thinking she’s the Queen-B to actually wishing she could be loved by her sisters in the end…And the many characters that surround them, aid them, love them and generally plot against them… Some are tarnished saints while others are scurrilous rogues. But now that the show has been off the air for 6 years it would be cool if they brought it back for just one more season as a way to get caught up with where the sisters are at now.I had been curious about the show for several years and was glad that I finally gave in and purchased it off Amazon. And I would place the series somewhere in the middle of my top-10 of all time.

So well-acted! Interesting, engaging story.

This Canadian multi-season series is an amazing tour de force. Tatiana Maslany's portrayal of multiple characters is astonishing, made me go look for her in other films and TV (spoiler: she does not disappoint in anything I have seen her in). All the actors and the production values are abslutely on point. The overall story is rather convoluted, but entirely possible to follow, not annoying like some series. The series resolution to me was satisfying. One caution: yes, it does get rather dark, there are some disturbing scenes and storylines. Still, absolutely fantastic series. Highly, highly recommended!

Interesting to see the same actor playing up to four different Characters on the screen at the same time.The concept of cloning humans is well handled. At the present time however the idea of using science to advance human evolution probably will not be highly accepted.

It's fabulous!

I have seen this series several times but noticed it was moved to a streaming platform I do not have. I decided I needed to own it, so now I can watch it anytime I want. Tatiana Maslany is a genius. The writing is incredibly good.Unfortunately, one of the disks is smudged and will not play! I am past the return window and am not happy that I cannot watch the full series I paid for. This set was not cheap.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series, so much that I bought it to ensure I can watch it again. Tatiana Maslany plays the lead, and her Sestra (sister), and several acquaintances, and several others. The supporting cast is awesome, and the various roles that one actress can play in a series - and the way she did scenes with herself or multiple selves gives a shout to how good the behind the scenes production is as well.A very entertaining story about a gal who finds out through witnessing her lookalike get hit by a train - and assuming her identity - that she is one of several clones, all marked for death (by a clone, of course). Well told, well acted and it holds it own through the entire series.
