Perfect replacement for my 2016 Suburban — easy install and great quality
I bought this liftgate power strut to replace the failed one on my 2016 Suburban, and it ended up being a perfect fit. The quality feels solid right out of the box — the housing, connectors, and wiring all look well-made and comparable to the original part. Installation was surprisingly easy. It lined up exactly where it should, the plugs matched perfectly, and the whole swap took me about 15–20 minutes with basic tools. Once installed, the liftgate worked smoothly again, opening and closing with the proper power and no hesitation. If your Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, or Escalade has a weak or dead power liftgate actuator, this is a reliable replacement that saves you a ton compared to dealership pricing. So far, mine has been working flawlessly.

Inexpensive, quick, and easy to install. Quiet & smooth operation
Purchased this powered strut to replace OEM which died after 8 years & 265k miles. It took all of about 15 minutes to install after watching a video on the "tube" of "you" . I only installed the powered strut on the left side for now. This was inexpensive versus dealer pricing, and simple enough to install without involving a mechanic which would drive the price up further. First, use a 2x4 for a prop rod to hold up the lift gate and you are good to go. You'll need a slotted screwdriver or similar tool to pry the plastic trim off around the window to access the electrical plug connector. The connector has a lock on it, so just push that with your finger. You may need a screwdriver to pop the weathertight fitting around the cord off of the liftgate. To remove the old strut, use a screwdriver, pick, and/or pliers. Adjust the 2x4 prop rod to match the length of the new strut to the height o the liftgate. The strut pops right on without tools once it is lined up properly. Thread the plug through the hole on the liftgate and click in the weathertight fitting. Then plug it in, pop the trim back on, and test operation. Replace the non-powered right strut in the same manner as the left powered lift strut.

So easy to do it yourself that a suburbia man can do it! ;)
I replaced my original the rear Liftgate Power Support Shock Strut in my 2018 GMC Yukon Denali 4WD with this amazing ones. Replacement was quick and easy. Very strait forward operation. I did disconnect the negative battery cable before beginning. Removed the old one that were bad and installed the new pair and reconnected the battery and turned on the car and they worked nicely well like new! I did not have to reprogramed the car or use a scanner as some reviews or Youtube videos mentioned. You will find some videos how to do it step by step in YouTube. It was so easy that a suburbia man can do it! ;)
