Embers Sheet Music Perfect Paperback – 1 July 2010

I discovered her three months ago on youtube. The book is well printed and the notes on her songs helps to follow a correct palying. I enjoy a lot playing his sheets.

Just the book we wanted, and my daughter is loving learning to play the pieces, with a little help from her piano teacher.

Lovely pieces of modern chill out music that are achievable to play with practise for the not so good mature pianist! I love it and would recommend it, clearly printed and easy to read.

I first heard Helen on Classic FM when they played Embers. It's a lovely, soothing piece and very much my kind of sound. Googling the piece I was able to find out about Helen's two albums and having listened to clips from both albums decided to buy them straight off . As a pianist who needs sheet music I was even more pleased to find that Helen had gone to the trouble of producing sheet music for both Porcelain and Embers.I would suggest that the pieces are around grade 6 ability but it varies some being easier. The music is clear and easy to read. The Porcelain music is ring bound but Embers is not and this would be my only complaint and hence 4 stars. The price might seem a bit high but it's well worth it to be able to play these pieces.If you like Helen's music do take a look at Phamie Gow and in particular Moment's of Time.Looking forward to the next album Helen.

This book is absolutely incredible. Sure it is a tad pricy for a little song book, but it is well worth it. If you are not familiar to HJL, simply search helen jane long embers on youtube and listen to the entire album. This song book is note for note identical to how she plays it. As far as difficulty, the majority of the songs are probably intermediate level, probably best for 3 year + students, with many songs hanging out at around 2 flats/sharps, and one or two stray ones in key of c, and one or two advanced songs that have 4 flats or so. Honestly, not too difficult, but definitely not for a beginner. In the end, simply amazing beautiful pieces of music. As a 12th year pianist, I feel like the music is fairly simple, but its so brilliantly simplistic and beautiful that you cannot quit playing it. I was so happy I bought her other two books immediately.

She composed lovely piano music - and the intermediate player can really enjoy playing it!!!! High school girls LOVE this stuff - and it is lovely to listen to!!

It's great to get all the sheet music for this album in one place for a great price.
