Its like it was written for me personally..
Gotta love a book. Not even $20 and if it hits you right, it can change your whole life.. Ive read half of the book so far, and for me, I see there is great potential to improve my life using this book. Im surprised at how many times ive read things in here that feel very much like shes reading my mind. I take this as a plus, as if my set of issues must be the ones the book is targeting? Anyway, ive read a lot of self help books and this one is unique in that its not some re-hashed crap that doesnt seem to hit home. The book is part work book, and even that feels useful and not tedious. Im buying one for my son as well and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to tame the BS in their head and find their own version of success and happiness. Great book.

Was skeptical….
I read many reviews about this book before purchasing. I was skeptical. Was this just going to be another self help book that didn’t help at all? SO many reviews said they couldn’t put it down, read in one or two days. I have had this book over 2 weeks and am only on page 29. Some days I could only read one paragraph and would have to put the book down. I would have to think about that paragraph for as long as it took me. It was almost like I couldn’t process it, yet I could tell it was important. In fact, I have read those 29 pages 3 times already. And I will read them 300 times if necessary. I would imagine your own personal reaction to this book has to do with your age and experiences. I would imagine a 20 year old would have a different experience than a 60 year old. My point is no matter your age, this book should be read. This book should be in all high school libraries. I am taking my time reading this book because that’s what it deserves and that’s what I deserve. I feel so much compassion coming from the authors words. When you have spent a lifetime feeling a certain way, it’s so freeing to finally understand why that was happening. It’s also BEYOND joyful to realize you can fix it. That there is hope. That it can be done. This book has 155 pages yet I have only read 29 pages but a POWERFUL 29 pages and I have already started making little tiny changes. I am baby stepping this book. I am giving the time that is needed to process this book. I am in my late 50s. I am not only reading it for myself, but also for my daughter and little granddaughter. Beyond thankful for this book. Hope you give it a try.

A well-written exposé on the mind and how to get in control of one's life
I Would, but My DAMN MIND Won't Let Me!: A Simple Guide to Help You Understand and Manage Your Complex Thoughts and Feelings (Words of Wisdom for Healing Book 1) by Jacqui Letran. Having read dozens of similar books over the years, this particular book resonated at a very quintessential level. It was nearly impossible not to find myself reflecting on my own life, my own behavior and the internal dynamics within. I had to take pause many times just to let the bits and pieces sink in. While the author has written a number of books to help teens navigate the sometimes troubled waters leading to adulthood, this particular book is adapted for adults, and it speaks to adults in a very easy and profound manner. If you wonder why you have doubts about yourself, why your goals and dreams, no matter how hard you try to stay positive about them, seem to fade in the mist like a boat floating out into the fog-ridden sea, then you should read this book. The principles are not necessarily new, and are covered in many other books, but what makes this book special is the manner in which the author illuminates both the pros and cons and functionality of our subconscious mind, and shows us where other systems tend to fall short (the power of attraction, positive thinking systems) by isolating the emotions from our past which hold us, like slaves, in the maws of our own subconscious mind - emotions which, despite the best of intentions, work against our success and happiness. Highly recommended.
