Not really grooved
This was more like dry erase than a grooved book. Also the books and print are tiny. Not good for small children.

Ink disappears so you can rewrite
My older granddaughter (6) and grandson (9) loved it. My other granddaughter(3) wasn’t quite ready for writing but liked the drawing one.

Size too small
Disappointed in the size. Much too small for beginner writers. Maybe 5x8 but too much small work on each page. Works well but will probably not use much because of size.
