Carpenters Scratch Awl

Good pricing point.Staying nice and sharp even with a fair bit of use but I've only used it exclusively on softwood, plastics and plaster.Actually been keeping it on my desk as it's been useful for opening packages and other light poking jobs. Sorta like a swiss army knife - once you own one you find tons of uses for it.Not sure it would handle a lot of being smacked with a wooden mallet so I've been using a rubber mallet instead to be safe.The handle is quite small so find for me as I have small hands but if you're a giant it might be fiddly.The logo rubbed off very easily but this is inconsequential to its function.
