Amazing results!
I have a gaming laptop that is 4 years old and was biting 75c while idle so I changed the thermal paste and got this and now she sits around 35-40c while playing shows or movies and goes to 55-60 when gaming. The laptop will heat up to 70-90c if gaming without the cooling pad so it shows this cooling pad is amazing.

Cool
The led lighting scheme is retentive, as in I pick the light pattern I want, when power goes off and comes back on I don’t need to select the light pattern again. For the fan speed control the control is not retentive. I can’t put it in high speed then have it start on high the next time, each time I have to push the button 6 times when I start the computer. This is a pain and I figure the button will wear out due to this. So far the button is fine after a few months but we shall see.I like that with in usb cable that can connect to the laptop I can power this thing. I don’t need another ac adaptor and cable, just the sub from the laptop. The seal could fit the MSI raider a little better, if I matching things perfect the laptop sits over the buttons which would make me need to lift the front each time, which would ruin the foam seal over time. This why retentive fan speed would be better. On slow speed some air moves, it would be nice at this speed for productivity work, nothing graphically challenging. The built in air filters would help reduce fan cleaning intervals. At this low speed when the fans for the MSI raider ramp up to cool the cpu and th 4090 graphics the pc will actually overheat, this is worse than no cooling pad in this situation. Kick the speed up to max and the laptop runs much cooler with all that power draw. For my Raider the hot air exhausts mostly out the sides. I like that the suction has additional plates to limit hot air intake for laptops exhausting out the back. I like that the suction ports are in the back instead of the bottom. This allows it to sit on my lap and me not to worry about placement for suction. To me the thing on max really didn’t that noisy while sitting on my lap.I really like this unit. It is great. The reason I knock off a star is if they could make the led remember the setting they could/should have made the settings.

Works well
Fan is quiet at full power. I wish there was a port for ejecting heat other than through the laptop. Regardless it works incredibly well

More than I expected!
The media could not be loaded. When I received this it was impressively well packaged and now that I have used it, amazingly priced. The foam on the top has magnets so that it can be removed for cleaning, and can be fashioned for a larger laptop or with vents on the bottom rear of the laptop. The foam creates a nice tight seal. It also comes with air intake vent guards if your laptop has vents on the back edge, and a piece that can slide in front to prevent the laptop from sliding when it is fully raised. And what's even better is those pieces can be stored in slots underneath. The stands that vertically raise up are a bit thin, but they seem sturdy so far for my 16in laptop, but I was amazed at how high it can be raised. It is going to make typing so much easier. The lights are great, not too bright, many colors including multi color fade, and can be turned off.The function of actually cooling, which what I bought it for, works awesome! I got this product so that I could play a high frame rate game while I sit for 6 hour infusion treatments, but my laptop got scalding hot while I was playing it, and this keeps it so cool that I have zero framerate issues now and it runs smoothly for hours. I do believe that the seal created by the foam is what truly makes the difference. There are multiple fan settings and comes with a short cord that powers it from the laptop USB. It has an additional USB in the back, but I'm not sure what that's for... maybe to plug in a mouse dongle?I've seen people complain about the noise. I personally don't have any issues with the noise. If the laptop is properly placed with a good seal, it is fine and actually quiet compared to my actual laptop when it gets hot. My on board microphone however does pick up the fan sound, but I use a headset anyway so this is not important to me.If I could suggest any improvement it would be to maybe add something to the risers to lock them in place. They haven't moved, but I don't jostle it around like someone with dogs or kids that may have to contend with that. Otherwise, I feel like they covered all the bases and more of what I was looking for and I am truly happy.

Good design but unreliable.
The Klim Everest pad worked perfectly for about a week. It seems to function well when it was on. The design is nice and well thought out. The detachable accessories that store nicely under the pad was an added touch, along with the stand legs that hide away. The reason for the poor review is because the USB ports on the back are loose and the unit powers off and on when the cable is touched. I didn't notice at first because it's been setting on my desk but once a cable was moved, and I saw the unit turn off, I wiggled the cable again and could tell the connection was loose, as the light will flicker on and off. USB is one of those crucial components that you have to rely on and I just don't trust that a replacement wouldnt do the same thing. Klim came highly recommended for the price point but I imagine that many of the reviews were probably bought. Anyhow, hopefully better luck with a different one.
